 LOL

Well it took 98 pages, but this thread finally got derailed.  Of course, it took a combination of Nutella and NPR to do so...

It's a good source of calcium.

You know what is good?

Chili burgers from Wienerschnitzel are possibly my favorite thing to eat in the world....and I haven't had one in almost a decade because there are no franchises this side of the Mississippi :(

Oh, I miss them too! Mmm...chili cheese dogs!

Has this become the "what do you wish you were eating?" thread?  LOL

Remember, O Christian soul, that thou hast this day, and every day of thy life: God to glorify- Jesus to imitate- The Angels and Saints to invoke- A soul to save- A body to mortify- Sins to expiate- Virtues to acquire- Hell to avoid- Heaven to gain- Eternity to prepare for- Time to profit by- Neighbors to edify- The world to despise- Devils to combat- Passions to subdue- Death perhaps to suffer- Judgment to undergo.

Hmmm, I will try to get this back on the tracks. I am currently reading:

Evelyn Waugh, Brideshead Revisited
Irving Chernev and Fred Reinfeld, Winning Chess
Fr. Robert Barron, Word on Fire (a collection of sermons on selected Biblical texts)
Alfred Durr, The Cantatas of J. S. Bach (reading this very slowly in conjunction with listening to the cantatas)

I'd like to read Brideshead Revisited very much!  I really enjoyed the BBC miniseries version starring Jeremy Irons.

I'm about ready to tear my hair out at the moment. I was looking forward to finishing the book tonight, but when I got to the end, something was wrong. Nothing had been resolved -- it just sort of ... stopped. I now realize that I have a defective copy of the book, and that the last 30 or 40 pages are missing. And I will not have a chance to get to a bookstore any time in the next few days. So now I'm going to have to wait a week or two to read the rest of the book. Aaargh!
