I might be one of a handful of men on this forum that take up this hobby (and yes, I have been trained). But I am curious as to what the rest of us would prefer to use in case their is a gun shortage or similar scenario.

If I get extra cash: http://www.strongblade.com/prod/sba-irishtwohander.html

Your list is rather random, as it forsakes many common blades. I do own a Katana, but that would not be my first choice for actual use.

My actual blade for defense is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairbairn-Sykes_Fighting_Knife

Sabre is about the best in a close-quarter hallway type environment. Sure, one could use a dagger but I'd prefer not to close in quite that much. Of course, throwing the dagger give you one shot - so not very practicle. Your pole arms would be useless.

I've got a 12 inch Bowie knife that I think I'll stick with.

A mace offers the best option for quick, repeated uses.

Well my first choice would be the world's deadliest weapon, numchucks, second choice is a sickle with a spiked ball chained to it, but since those aren't available as choices I'm gonna have to go with the old stand by of longsword and shield.

I realize I probably should have included the Katana and the Sword-n-Dagger/Rapier-Main Gauche combination as choices.

I'm glad I am far from the only man on this forum who has thought of these things, though.
