That is a pretty good modern English translation.

An extremely poetic translation, with a regrettable amount of inclusive language. Not as much as some other translations though, and not enough to be offensive.

Ever since the days of the early Church, believers have looked to the stories and reflections of the saints for guidance on living in harmony with God. The New Jerusalem Bible: Saints Devotional Edition is the first Bible to present the insights and interpretations of the saints directly next to the relevant passages in the Scriptures.

For example, the story of Adam and Eve’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden is followed by an excerpt from the writings of Saint Gregory Nazianzen, which brings new meaning to an already familiar tale.

Oh, .. I would love to have that Bible!

The New Jerusalem Bible is a Catholic edition. I know nothing of it beyond that. Sorry  Embarrassed.

I promise not to put anything here which might help us question our mind-forged manacles, inspire us, or help us in any way at all.

N.B.: I will not be posting on this site again until the Christmas octave. Have a good Advent.
