I would like to ask you all to pray for my wife who is having a terrible time trying to breast feed. Thank you.

It almost always starts out like that...You could start a thread about it to get ideas and support...in the meantime

Ouch!  It is painful at first (no matter what the books and grandma and LLL say).  It may havea little to do with latch on (a common culprit), but the truth is that the skin there just has to become acclimated to constant nursing (it's like riding a bike for the first time in a while...except that it's not your bottom that is sore LOL).  I had about a month of intense pain with my first, even to the point of wincing in anticipation of latch-on and crying after, but I persevered and it's all been downhill since (and it gets much easier with each child, altho if she quits nursing betw babies she'll have a bit of soreness starting up again).  You might wanna pm JoanOfArc (Matt Talbot's wife on FE).  She's a LLL consultant and has lots of good advice.

also  Pray  for you to help her thru this

youch, UD!

 LOL

UD is right - she's telling it like it is.

But if your wife physically capable, it's worth it.

Smile

 Pray

for all three of you.

As they said above, it will get better! One thing that really helps me through is to offer the pain for different intentions. Thinking about the fact that I can use the pain for a greater good (not that breast feeding my baby isn't very good in itself) somehow makes it a little easier. I hope it gets better for your wife soon!  Pray
