Man, sinagag with isda....and the true tropical ones. 50 pesos is cheap, that's like a dollar, right? I have fond memories of Shoe Mart, but of course it's gonna be mahal, haha.

Crispy fried Bangus (fish), two eggs over easy, fresh papaya, rice and OJ.
That's so pinoy, except the eggs need to be scrambled. I just had some cereal. No filipino breakfast for me (unfortunately). Ah, bangus, that is the best stuff when cooked over an open fire. Sauteed potatoes and carrots, boiled eggs, mango, garlic rice(the best rice) and dragon fruit juice. C. We keep the bangus marinating in the fridge, I use cane vinegar, garlic, bay leaf, salt and pepper. I like the little ones, split in half, so when you crispy fry 'em you can eat the bones and all. We have a farmer near our home that grows dragon fruit. He sell it to us for 50 peso per kilo, SM sells it for 175. It's nice to be close to the source! Yeah, nothing like eliminating the middle man, eh? Our local fruit stands are the handiest. And if I want a glimpse of the "real world" I take a short jeepney ride to the glitsy Abreeza mall, way too expensive. C.

C. I can imagine that jeepney ride, everyone wearing shorts, it being really hot, and the air. The air in the PI has that LA smell (smog). Is Abreeza comparable to Mega Mall? I forget you are "sa province," as we would say. Ha, it's been too long.

Having said that I don't think too many folks here drive stuff that have catalytic converters, so yeah, it can be smoky at times. Women and some men will cover their noses with handkerchiefs. But no comparison to the air in Manila, you can bump your head on that air! Abreeza is the newest mall here in Davao, very shiny and glitzy. I like to go there just to walk around, it's the one place I can get my exercise without breaking a sweat, they keep it nice and cool. http://www.myayalamalls.com/ayala+malls/id/10/Abreeza+Mall C.

My favorite place in Davao is Jack's Ridge, it's a great place to enjoy dinner or cocktails with a gorgeous view. Outside the city, I love Eden Nature Park up on the slopes of Mt. Apo where it's nice and cool.

Thanks for the tip about Jack's Ridge, Five O, we'll have to explore that. Yes, Eden Park is pretty awesome. These days a trip up into the hills is a good way to cool off.

I had fermented oatmeal cooked with butter, organic evaporated cane juice, and Himalayan pink sea salt and topped with brined almonds, organic bananas and organic whipped coconut cream.
Boy do I eat weird food.
It was good though, but not as good as bacon.
