I can drink coffe at 11 pm, and be asleep a half hour later. My mom says it's a Dutch thing(she's from Holland) coffee is a big thing there

That is me also ;D.  Every once in awhile it get’s me, but some melatonin usually does the trick.  I almost always drink a couple pots of coffee between awakening at 5 am up to the evening.  I have to have a cup of coffee after supper, otherwise I go sound asleep by 7 pm.

Late spring through early fall, when the weather is warm, I’ll have Red Bull in the afternoon, rather than coffee, and sometimes the iced coffee drinks from the espresso stand (but I still need a hot cup of black coffee after supper).

My younger brother accuses me getting our now 89 year old mother “addicted” to Red Bull about 8 years ago.  I was staying with her the summer of 2002.  She needed to store some food in my fridge in the basement, discovered the Red Bull, and tried a can.  She asked me what it was.  I explained that it was an energy drink with B vitamins, and I got it by the case at Costco.  A couple of days later I noticed a case in her pantry ;D.  Brother’s theory is that she shouldn’t consume that much caffeine.  My theory is that at age 89 she can drink whatever she wants Way to go! .She has one or two cans every day.

Last June I accompanied her to California for a grand niece’s wedding.  We were trying to pack so we wouldn’t have to check bags, as the airlines all charge for that now.  We did end up checking one duffel bag, that could be folded and brought back empty in a carry one, as WA wine, WA apples, WA cheese, and WA sausages had to carted down for the CA relations (I think she is convinced they just don’t have good food in CA).  The duffel was full, but mom wanted to bring along Red Bull.  I had to assure her that it could be found in CA.

I'm not Dutch, but the same thing happens to me.  I have to literally pound caffeine to get jittery.

I usually just eat a marionberry jam tartine with either tea or coffee. I've been hankering croissants for a while, though, so I may whip some up tonight.
