That sounds so nice! How old is your son? I'm sure he'll love it. Well, as you may have guessed, I give rosaries and chaplets...go figure

I'm giving people letters and paintings. The letters are being written in the best calligraphic hand I can muster. The paintings are in watercolour. The only bought gifts I'll be giving are books to my parents.

That sounds great. May I ask what you paint? Landscapes, abstract, portraits...

It's funny because he is a serious chess player ( plays at the library and sometimes at school and beats adults who play well all the time), but he is not your typical "nerdy" chess-playing kid..He is also heavily into hockey, baseball, soccer, football, basketball, gymnastics and hunting and fishing too.. A young man with a wide-range of interests to say the least...

That sounds great. May I ask what you paint? Landscapes, abstract, portraits... I've tried my hand at most things, at the moment I'm painting figurative scenes. I've just finished one picture in black and white (just picking out negative space) of a Victorian lady with a parasol in her "midnight garden". Not very Christmasy, but it's a joke between me and a friend

Two days ago I realized the patterned mittens I was knitting for my Mother-in-law ... were both right handed. Many people saw me knit, no one noticed I made two right ones. I went from "almost done" back to "just over half done" in an instant.
Otherwise, most gifts are knitted dishcloths and (not-knitted) earrings. However, calling the earrings handmade when I buy the pins, slide on a few beads and bend it around the already made "fish-hook" feels inaccurate. Let's call those "hand-assembled".

I filled a few baskets with homemade hot cocoa mix, chocolate cookies, handmade cards, and some fused plastic items I created.
