I filled a few baskets with homemade hot cocoa mix, chocolate cookies, handmade cards, and some fused plastic items I created.

What's a fused plastic item? Home mixed cocoa sounds delicious.

Then again I asked him, "supposing the Pope looked up and saw a cloud and said 'It's going to rain', would that be bound to happen?"
"Oh, yes, Father."
"But supposing it didn't?"
He thought a moment and said, "I suppose it would be sort of raining spiritually, only we were too sinful to see it."

It's a really strong plastic material made from heat fusing plastic bags. I've made some key chains, luggage tags, clutches, and jewelry for people.

I crocheted a hat, scarf, and purse for my niece.  I did some small crochet christmas ornaments, also.

Among the immediate family we usually exchange 'store bought' gifts that we think another could use, might need, or would like (or gift cards).

For friends I make candles (small votives and pillars - haven't tried to dip candles yet).  I mostly do a 50 / 50 beeswax and paraffin mix (with the paraffin coming from recycled candle stubs).  I've been doing soy wax lately also, and really like it.

Great! I might try this.... better than stuffing discarded bags into a drawer.

Good! It's really fun, and sort of addicting.  Smile

One problem: I don't think the woman in the video tells you what setting to use on your iron.

I use the "nylon" setting... ? I think lower is better for bags from Barnes & Noble, Children's Place etc. and higher is better for bags from Target, HyVee etc. Too hot and the bags usually shrivel. It's most important to just keep the iron moving, and on a "mediumish" setting. It's all sort of an experiment.
