Has anyone else played this?

A "cult-classic" point-and-click adventure game that takes place in an Orwellian dystopia in Australia, of all places.  The game has some brilliant dialogue, lots of dry British humor, and a pretty good story (although the flow gets sloppy toward the game's end, I find).  A pity the game's so short.

The game is freeware and runs on the recently-created SCUMM virtual machine (http://www.scummvm.org/).  If you're blessed to be running Linux, you can get the VM and the game from Synaptic Package Manager.

Sounds like Pittsburgh in Western Pa, in the States.... Fish-Eater Smackdown Crazy   LOL [Just kidding. Perhaps Western Pa should be re-named: "Neo-Transylvania."

Its abandonware, not freeware lol. It runs fine on DOSbox too, I have it on my hard drive, but I still have a couple other abandonware games to knock off before I play it. Probably finish Gabriel Knight if I can sort out the game-crash I'm getting when I put the snake-rod thing into the knothole to open the secret hounfour entrance...
Then I'll play Dreamweb, cos I never got around to it...
And THEN, maybe I'll play BASS.
Hey, you wouldn't happen to have the full voice version would ya?

First I've heard of abandonware, but makes sense.  Although I think Revolution Software is making some money off the BASS port for the iPhone (this was back in 2007, I think).

And yes, the SCUMMVM port for BASS has voices and music.  It also plays the Dave Gibbons comic at the beginning of the game to voices and sound effects.

Dreamweb sucks, I'm going to BASS now lol.

Never tried that SCUMMVM. Probably because growing up(as in, back when these gaems were state of the art and cost money lol) I preferred Sierra to LucasArts.
I play a LOT of abandonware, but I've been running everything through DOSBox.
Hey, if you're a fan of those good ol' point and click adventures, check out HoTUD. Most of the best are on there, otherwise the easiest way to find a specific game is through Squakenet.

Yeah, I've since completed Legend of Kyrandia 3 (the one with Malcolm) which I found disappointing. I liked the first two.
Gonna move on to Discworld Noir seeing as I grew up on Terry Pratchett's books, and thoroughly enjoyed the first games (although I missed outon Eric Idle's voice for both of those). Found an abandonware site with a download for Discworld Noir so I just have to squeeze the 400mb down my little dialup tube.

Some point and clicks I do recommend though, are:

The QFG series from Sierra, Discworld I and II, Monkey Island series, ben Croshaw's Chzo Mythology (although those are very easy to complete), Gabriel Knight (if anybodyhas links to downloads for the second and third games PM me!!!) and Robin Hood Conquests of the Longbow.

HOTuD or Abandonia should have most of those.

Note: For "talkies" use the HOTuD downloads rather than the Abandonia.

I want to download the Phantom of the Opera game, as my wife loves the musical (particularly the film version, which is markedly different than the stage version.)
