I see things here which leave me feeling embarrassed and disgusted and questioning being a trad or even a Catholic. The feeling doesn't last but I experience that initial sense of revulsion.
I've never experienced not wanting to be a catholic, per se. I've definitely experienced disgust at the thought of being in the same Church as certain types of people. Yes. That is a good way to express it. I'd say that is an awful way to express it. The Church is for all who believe in Christ, no matter how disgusting we may think they are. The only disgust we should feel is for immorality and heresy being able to grow unchecked.

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)
"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome
"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch

Writing those things as if they were somehow true or justified passes off as sanctimoniousness. "Oh, so and so makes me embarassed and disgusted and questioning being a Catholic", "Oh, I feel disgusted at the thought of being in the same Church as so and so", etc. You could just as well say: "God, I thank you, that I am not like these people."Do you realize how incredibly pretentious this sounds? Remember the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Lk 18:9-14).

You are right. I deserve your rebuke. Nevertheless, since I feel such things myself, I can sympathize with Credo.

I think in some sense, Traditionalism encourages a stronger sense of being bound with the true church. By contrast, post-V2 the church has sometimes become obsessed with becoming unoffensive to so many groups that it opens the door to heresy and immorality.
