" When I think that we are in the building of the Holy Office, the outstanding witness of Tradition and defender of the Catholic Faith, I cannot help thinking that I am on my own territory and that it is I whom you call ' the traditionalist' who should be judging you." -  quote from Archbishop Lefebvre when questioned by the CDF

"Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer are the two great saints of the modern Church. Once this catastrophe ends they will be instantly canonized." - Father Malachi Martin

Another one bites the dust!

After the Dark Lancer debacle, the last one in a string of debacles spreading across several years that are of my own doing, I'm not going to spend my time trying to get people to behave and/or get the hang of the place.   If people become headaches for me after gentle and harsh coercion, they're gone in short order now rather than my waiting for them to rehabilitate themselves or spending my own time trying to rehabilitate them.  It's not worth my time and effort.

It's a new era of moderation.  I may learn my lessons slowly, but I do learn them.

ETA: out of fairness to DL, though, I want to be clear he isn't anything at all like Ockham.  Ockham was a "bad seed".  There is no way anything good can come from dubious methods as he was suggesting.

New and Improved Quis?

Mmm....  More like more jaded, cynical, and tired.

I like Ockham so I'm disappointed, but I respect the decisions of the moderator.

As usual, he can come back if he e-mails me and promises to knock off the problem.  In this case, the main problem was calling people radtrads for suggesting (horrors!) we tell people the actual reasons the Church has given for certain things instead of blowing smoke up their asses for personal gain.

If we have to lie and fudge things to get TLMs, count me out.  It isn't "of God" if we need to do that, and I don't want it promoted here as a good idea.  I especially don't want us being attacked as "rad-trads" for not wanting to do that.

LOL, I've been like that a long time, but just when I think I can't get more like that, someone comes along and does something that proves me wrong.

Me too, and I also liked glgas and Credo. But sometimes you just have to know when to swallow your pride and shut up. If Quis ever tells me to "knock it off", I'm going to do it!      Smile

Just like there seems to be no limit to stupidity, there seems to be no limit to cynicism.

at least I think so.
