I sure hope they are within weeks of an announcement. I have been using a collegeville breviary as of late that I checked out from a library and I hop to be able to purchase my own set of superior quality in the very near future.

Will the new Baronius Divine Office include all of Matins and the readings including the Martyrology? In other words, will it be the complete Divine Office as posted on Divinum Officium?

I have neither the time nor the inclination to make such a comparison so I cannot say for certain. But it does include all hours for each day of the year, and is full of readings and wonderful sermons from Church Fathers such as Pope St Gregory about the saint(s) of the day. So the best answer I can offer is yes, and apparently yes.

Yeah if it's 3 volumes it's because it includes Matins... which are shown in the sample pages http://www.baroniuspress.com/images/sampe_pages_584-589.pdf

The delays have been puzzling and disappointing, as much for them as for us I'm sure.
The one potential problem they may have now is that after all this delay, missed deadlines, etc, is that expectations around the quality and content are now quite high. People are expecting nothing short of the most amazing breviary set ever published, period. After all, the whole point of the added delay was to fisk the copy, right? And since that added unexpected years to the project, the expectation is that the final copy will be flawless, beautiful and complete.
Those kind of expectations could prove...troublesome.

I have another question. I have looked at the sample pages on the Baronius sight many times and I still do not understand the following statement on page 586.
"Saturday has long been dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, but this thought does not seem to be expressed in the Office."
I pray the LOTH and know that Saturday prayers can be said in honor of Mary. However, specifically, what does "but this thought does not seem to be expressed in the Office" mean?
Thanks.

I very much agree. The collegeville Breviary is of mediocre quality at best. If I am going to pay $200-$300 for a Breviary I expect it to be of the highest quality, based on the time it has taken people have high expectations and I fee this is totally legitimate.

The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary was cobbled together using those special holy days dedicated to Mary. It was intended as the Office for Our Lady since the Divine Office, including Saturday, is naturally focused on the Blessed Trinity.

As long as it doesn't turn into a white iPhone 4 situation!
But, personally, I've decided to just go ahead and learn Latin to pray the Breviary using the Diurnale.
I bought the Diurnale, too, and can say that it is a pleasure to use.

One more point...as requested by Baronius, I have very often prayed for success in this worthy endeavour. As someone who dislikes the four week psalter of the LOTH, where else can one buy an in-print bilingual Latin/English breviary for the EF? Nowhere. Unless I am corrected, I believe that this will be the ONLY in-print, available bilingual 1962 complete breviary.
Still though...it better be good. I've been saving my dough for this.
Does anyone have a good prayer for this special intention handy, btw? For the success of Baronius and this worthy endeavour?
