The European longsword in use in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries. It is the highest quality sword type in the world.

Unless I'm mistaken, my friend has one of those hanging on his living room wall (yes, it is over 500 years old).  It is high quality tempered steel.  He demonstrated the fact by tapping the blade with his finger.  It rang.  He told me the ring was evidence of the steel's quality.  It felt like it weighed about.... I'd say no more than about 5 pounds or so (it's been a while since I held it).

Impressive weapon indeed, though.

Do you have a picture? The ring isn't significant.

5 pounds is on the heavy side, but it is difficult to tell by holding. That is a key element though. Most do not realise that they were light weapons. They put make katana look like butter knives.

However, if it is that old, then it is likely made properly, as only ceremonial and practice swords were not made for combat and they look like what their names are.

I'm a big fan of the C7A2, mainly because it's the only thing I've shot. But it's reliable and deadly accurate and easy to use.

I ground my faith upon Jesus Christ, and by Him I steadfastly believe to be saved, as is taught in the Catholic Church through all Christendom, and promised to remain with Her unto the world's end, and hell gates shall not prevail against it: and by God's assistance I mean to live and die in the same faith; for if an angel come from heaven, and preach any other doctrine than we have received, the Apostle biddeth us not to believe him. Therefore, if I should follow your doctrine, I should disobey the Apostle's commandment.
