At present there are no regular TLM's in Malta which is a great shame as the 300+ churches are mostly baroque which give a glimpse of Heaven on Earth.
I often go to Malta on holiday as I have done so for 10 years and I know a Maltese Family, If the TLM was weekly event at say just one Church I am certain that Malts from all over the Island would attend. The Churches all have their original Altars so there would be plenty of location choices. I pray for St Paul's shipwreck Church in Valetta!

Rumours are circulating in traditionalist circles that the SSPX is about to establish a presence in Malta if not a fully fledged District. It is also being said that a private chapel has been put at the disposal of the Society together with a house. Pro Tridentina (Malta) is not in a position to confirm or otherwise these rumours, but we will keep you posted if any developments follow.

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)

"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome

"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch

The SSPX has largely ignored those people who were striving to bring its priests to Malta. And I am informed that the SSPX is simply ignoring requests coming from Malta. I wonder why. Perhaps someone can enlighten me on the way forward vis-a-vis the SSPX?

Perhaps one way of 'exerting' pressure is by becoming followers of this Blog:

Rumour has it that the Maltese Curia is becoming nervous because of this group and is putting hurdles.

Perhaps you'll have to have a wealthy family to sponsor the SSPX's installation in Malta.

That's one of their methods. Don't be fooled. They'll go where the money is.

I had to go to NO masses for the 3 weeks i was there August/September this year.

Please tell me what the Greek Catholic Liturgy is like? I have walked past their church in Valletta, and when I go to Malta next year i might go to their Sunday  mass?
