I just don't even care...I'm so friggin done with it. He's been like this for the whole 10 years he's been here. Trust me, I'm not the only person in he church to have issues with him. Problem was, our old head priest and him were very good friends, so nothing was ever done about the comPlaints.

Maybe the priest is kickin' ass and taking names.  Sticking tongue out at you

You really think so....I doubt you do.

Oh, I think I do.  I think I know the priest in question, and I know he has a characteristic tendency to be very blunt which will hurt the overemotional types.  But he also has the characteristic tendency to be absolutely correct in his assessment.  I think he may be handing out some bad tasting medicine.  I think the best thing would be for CC's husband to have a man to man conversation with the priest.

This guy is a piece of work. I can't believe he said that to CC's mom. It's bad enough he has no perspective (apparently) on children, but to put a taunt out there? I found it distasteful enough already, much like the child-hating I'd already seen at Trad chapels personally.

If a priest encouraged a visit with me like that, he would certainly obtain one. When you call another man out like that, you better remove that collar for what's next.

I had an experience at an FSSP chapel with baby-haters.  Someone posted a sign on the church door (because people congregate outdoors to talk before and after Mass) that said children should stay at home so as not to "disrupt" the Mass.

My fellow young Mass goers and I took it to the young (late 20s) priest, and his homily was a forceful condemnation of the people/person who put the sign up, and he said it was a GREAT thing children were brought to Mass, and that he welcomes them whole-heartedly.

"It is questionable whether the proper functions of Catholics is to hunt down, "expose" and condemn Catholics they suspect of undue rigidity, disobedience or "material schism"; especially while giving support to a Vatican ecumenical campaign which addresses heretics and actual Schismatics as "separated brethren", Jews as "people of the covenant" and Muslims as "people of God". This is part of the overall contradiction (or inconsistency) that permeates the "conservative" mentality. Cloaked in a pledged loyalty to all things "whatsoever" emanating from the Holy See, many "conservatives" will go beyond the measures taken by the Church leaders, or even disagree with their actual positions. The Hawaii "excommunications" were an obvious example but others can be seen. "Conservatives" denounce as "Schismatic" all those who set foot in SSPX chapels while the Vatican embraces the Schismatics in China. "Conservatives" deny any significant change at the Second Vatican Council while the Pope celebrates the enormity and impact of the changes. "Conservatives" seek the conversion of the Eastern "Orthodox" while the Vatican promises not to "proselytize" them. "Conservatives" deride American bishops while the Pope appoints and promotes the same ones." -Peter Miller

"Tolerance is the last virtue of a depraved society When an immoral society has blatantly and proudly violated all the commandments, it insists upon one last virtue, tolerance for its immorality. It will not tolerate condemnation of its perversions. It creates a whole new world in which only the intolerant critic of intolerable evil is evil." -H. Gibson

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I do not know what a 'Candylander' is. Someone enlighten me?

It is just a term that Scipio made up because he was tired of using the same old insults.  Basically it means people that disagree with Scipio.

Pedestrian response by a pedestrian mind.

Candyland is a strain of tradism that is virulent.  It really embodies holierthanthouness but with a real trad cath flavor that takes on majorly unCatholic ideas and actions and parades them around as if they are Catholic or in some cases, if the ideas are Catholic, they are paraded around as if they are the only Catholic response....and they are almost always the severe response....a very ugly crowd on almost every level.
