Ok, so I am so upset, i don't know what to do, here's the story :
I'm at mass this morning, the church was full, so I took my 2 girls up to he spare seating in the choir loft. There was room beside my Sis in law and her kids. Well, during the sermon, her kids needed the bathroom. As soon as they went, my girls started franticly telling me they had to pee NOW. so, I got up to take them,2 second after my Sis in law. Yes the kids were loud. We are herding 5 kids out between the two of us, in a tiny cramped aisle (I'm talking not even 2 ft wide) and they are all wearing clunky winter boots. Well, my Sis was just at the stairs, I was half way there. Father stops mid sentence, stares at me and says "well, some ppl need attention so bad that thy need to come to church Sunday morning and make all kinds of noise to get it!" I was absoluteley humiliated...I could barelychoke back tears, the ENTIRE congregation turned and were craningbtheir heads to look up at me. The choir was shooting evil glares at me. he did not start the sermon again, until I was allthe way downstairs. The ushers were giving me dirty looks, everyone was staring....my husband ran upstairs, grabbed our jackets and my purse and insisted we leave. He was fuming angry. He is a convert, and it's thIs kinda thing that he hates about my church. The only reason I go there is because it's the only SSPX church here....

When people are following Church teaching and being generously open to life, they deserve recognition and moral support from others. The entire Church benefits from the obedience and the example of these parents. It is difficult to come to church with young children and those of us without them should be sympathetic and understanding to those who do.
The priest might not appreciate what you are doing for the Church, but I do. Thank you.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune today, CC. How old are the children? Have they been sufficiently taught the need for silence during Mass?
Perhaps you could request an appointment with the Priest to explain the occurrence and tactfully express your concern over his reaction? I know I'd opt for this route as for me, personally, stewing and wallowing in anger and frustration (caused by leaving a situation such as this unaddressed) can be very harmful to my spiritual life.

Would you please spare an AVE for my deceased Aunt Elizabeth who left us on July 16th 2010? May God reward you."Know this: it is by very little breaches of regularity that the devil succeeds in introducing the greatest abuses. May you never end up saying: 'This is nothing, this is an exaggeration' ... I would give up my life a thousand times, not only for each of the truths of Sacred Scripture, but even more for the least of the rubrics and ceremonies of the Catholic Church."+ St. Therese of Avila +"The person who does not become irate when he has cause to be sins. For an unreasonable patience is the hotbed of many vices.+ St. John Chrysostom

Trust me, anyone with kids sympathized with you. My only suggestion is to get to Mass early and sit in the back so if you have to make an exit it's quick and painless. There's not much else you can do except have an enforced pee stop before you leave for Mass; that only kinda works with small bladders.

I'm sorry; anyone who has dealt with potty-training-children knows sometimes you just have to get to the bathroom...right away! So maybe Fr wouldn't exactly understand that part, but the rest of the congregation should have! Maybe have your husband speak to Fr and explain the circumstances. I tend to think he should have given you the benefit of the doubt, anyway.

My girls are 6 and 4. Usually we do the pee stop before mass, but we were barely on time today, so we just rushed in and sat down. It was kind of loud getting out I won't deny that, but it wasn't their fault! It was because they had big clunky winter boots on, and inthe foot and a half aisle, there was coils of wires and crap on the ground, that they were trying to step over. My kids are ok with being quiet in church, they weren't making the noise on purpose. Anyways, I am going to his superior about this. I know our head priest would have NO patience for this kind of thing. This particular priest is always being very rude, calling ppl out and yelling at them during mass if their kids are making a noise and stuff. He also works at the school. He's been known to call the kids names, even hit them at times. He picks on my entire family, my Sis in law had to pull her kids out because Of it. He has taken me aside and told me that my wearing pants when I drop my daughter off is destructive to the kids in the school. He always makes comments about " those useless loser watsons" . He has even te my 2 little sisters that they are gonna end up as useless as their der brothers and sisters... I'm DONE. I have had enough, this was the last straw...

Sounds like the best course of action. The priest sounds like a complete prick.
