Why do you say that?

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)
"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome
"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch

Why do you say that? I guess I don't know for sure, but I didn't feel scared and neither did my father. I felt like there was a presence which wanted us to know that it was there, but it wasn't evil or threatening in any way.

"And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light." (2 Cor. 11:14) It need not be threatening to be demonic in nature. That possibility is not excluded as you seemed to imply in your last post.

Honestly, I wouldn't cast a vote either way myself, but I am completely open to the possibility of "energies" (for want of a better word) or some such things which we simply are unaware of. If these energies existed, the possibility of residual energy and what the ramifications of this residual energy might be could only truly be explored once we reach a level of understanding and comprehension from which to approach and study it.
Bearing in mind that our human history is full of such things, which were inexplicable until we reached a point from which we could begin to decipher and seek the true explanation, I consider it a definite possibility - though at this point I would refrain from comment on probability as I have nowhere near enough relevant information.
I would say that, if they exist, such energies would be of a functional nature during human existence (for if they were purposeless or without functional nature why would God utilise them in His creation?) and I believe that there are some indications of certain energies which are in effect within the human body itself as it is. Now while these energies that we know of (keep in mind there is a whole system of electrical circuitry which transcends any man made electrical system already in place within the human body) are not neccesarily an overt link to what has been described, as time progresses there is undoubtedly yet much, much more to be learnt.
There are many things which we will likely never know in this life. The bonds of time shackle us to certain perspectives and levels of knowledge/understanding. Only when we reach eternity will we be truly exposed to the highest truths and I'll bet there will be some surpises.
I digress. As far as the topic at hand, well, I dunno. God knows. If it is in accordance with His Divine Will that I should know, then I shall know. If not, then I shall not. Either way, life goes on. Senseless argument about things we do not truly understand will get nobody anywhere.

It is my solemn and firmly held belief that the Cristeros were an entirely unjustified group of egomaniacal sociopaths and that Mexico would be a far better place today had they simply purchased Xbox360 consoles and lived out their ridiculous fantasies via an imaginary fantasy gaming realm Forget your lust for the rich man's gold/ All that you need, is in your soul/ And you can do this, oh baby, if you try/ All that I want for you my son/ Is to be satisfied All that we are is a picture in a mirror, with fancy shoes to grace our feet. All that there is, is a slow road to freedom; Heaven above and the devil beneath. We're all in this thing together, walking a line between faith and fear, this life won't last forever - when you cry I taste the salt in your tears.

I agree with Rosarium. I am willing to bet that most hauntings that aren't imagined are either demonic or simply some type of residual psychic energy that science hasn't discovered yet. Human spirits returning to earth would seem to be an extreme rarity, and they would have a point like the ghosts who visited Scrooge.
I for one doubt that any ever had, I'm open to the demonic possibilities (Or angelic for that matter) but am very skeptical of all these "ghosts stories". And I've heard more than my share from family, friends, and acquaintances through the years, but have never, ever even remotely viewed an otherworldly entity, even UFOs or aliens, which I believe is more of a possibility than ghouls and goblins from long dead persons. I just can't take seriously anyone who tells me they've seen a ghost.

Of course I can never be totally sure of what it was, but I do have a hard time believing that every non-threatening appearance of ghosts is demonic. To be a smart-ass (but with a point): yet you have no problem believing ghosts (speaking generally) are non-demonic? Let me ask this: do you think there are ghosts of children? I mean, ghost hunting people do, and they get EVPs with children's voices on them relatively frequently. Personally, I find it difficult to believe God would allow any soul to wander aimlessly let alone a child's soul. Really, this seems more like a demonic ploy to get sympathy and suck someone in. Demons will pretend they are "lost souls" to get an acquaintance with you. They will respond with EVPs, all kinds of stuff, to suck you in. Today's EVP is yesterday's seance or necromancy circle. Demons are con men. Oh, and there's always the dead batteries and stuff that say ghosts need energy to manifest. Here's a different thought: demons need attention to manifest. They drain the batteries, manipulate flashlights, etc. to get more attention. Otherwise, why all the smoke and mirrors? Why do demons levitate things at exorcisms, for example? I do not think they are naive enough to believe it is going to scare a priest who is committed to performing the exorcism or assistants who are experienced. They want your attention so they can make an inroad. They want to be part of your life so they can take it over. They're the original predators, con men, child molestors, etc. They'll build interest and trust, and then move in. And even if they are ghosts, there is nothing more you can do for them than you do already: remember them at Mass especially on All Souls Day.

I've seen and heard things a few times in my life, and had one or two things happen to me that have no logical explanation. All I can tell you is that it was serious, it was there. I don't think they were ghosts though.

I use to do "Paranormal Ghost Hunting" before I had my conversion and found Catholic Tradition... The people who were involved in that bordered on the occult, so I knew something was wrong, even though I was getting major panic attacks after and continued with it until 2008 or so..... I was looking for an outlet, since my faith was very weak, even though I went through the motions at the NO only a few times a year.....
I feel sometimes God permits evil and the demonic to roam the Earth to deceive and create havoc to get a greater good out of people... It is just too bad others who are involved in that don't respond to the Grace that is given.
Please pray for my aunts and uncles who are NO Catholics, but put soo much stock in what people like John Edward and the like tell them about "past loved ones"... I can't help but imagine that since he doesn't practice or go to Church anymore that Satan and his demonic angels have and can influence him and deceive many in his flock....Am I right??

Personally I think John Edwards is a phony. Read skeptic sites about him especially techniques for "cold readings".
I don't think "psychics" are always informed by the devil. My opinion is that some are fakes, some may in fact have a gift from God, but sure, some are listening to demons if they know it or not.
