I hate to say it, but the garb your avatar is wearing is not medieval, but Renaissance...

Well, obviously. Considering you can toss peasants into a giant monster in a pit like the Sarlacc from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, though, this is probably splitting hairs.

Praying for the dead is important. PM me if you need a cantor for the Requiem Mass of a deceased friend or family member. Have cassock and surplice, will travel. (Will also do weddings for a reasonable price.)

The sarlac is not "in a pit". It is the pit.

Unless you meant "tossing peasants into a pit" like "those tossed into the sarlac", but this is probably splitting hairs, but I'm told I'm good at that.

I'm normally the sort to be a little embarrassed to admit playing games like The Sims, but I highly recommend this one; especially for casual gamers with relatively low-end PC's.

I tried to make this character look as much like myself as I could:

Look at those images again...what is the difference between "man" and "woman"? Clothes?

If it is going to be Medieval, it should be Medieval!

True enough. Smile

I'm sure we could get Ros to program some freeware or something.

We're gonna make tons o' cash with the freeware!

More than you'd think. Linus, a Finnish university student, became a multimillionaire overnight solely by developing (and leading) an entirely open source project which he never sold.

That is the thing about software, selling "licenses" is usually short sighted. Selling support, service and function is worth while. Cripping software out of greed hurts everyone but the pockets of lawyers.

However, "freeware" is evil. Freedom is more than just cost. One can sell truly free software.

For example, how much does it cost to use Google? How much money does Google get each year? Google released an open source operating system for mobile devices, and it is taking the market, the software is free (not just in cost), yet, Google profits. It also uses Linux...Linus's university project.

That is how freedom works. Fewer lawyers, more money and code.

About the game, I am capable of programming games, although I do not make games (they are not interesting to me, and even though they have some sort of glamour, they are the most boring things to program). I have no skill (or desire to have skill at) graphics. I work with data, not eyes Smile User interfaces are just a necessity because at this time because God did not design us with standard interfaces. That is probably for the best, to avoid compatibility issues, but it results in quite a few kludges in implementing such interfaces!

Question:

I've heard it's more RPG like than the sims 3.  I love the Sims 3, and basically use it like paper dolls whose lives I can mess with.  Is RPG element needed, or can you focus on other aspects?

Then again, I'm a little sick of having to tell my sims to change their babies' diapers and make dinner.  And sitting here, watching them clean.  So I use the motherlode cheat to get money to hire servants.  Gosh, how I wish that worked in real life.  :p

Ha, err, no. Role playing game, not rocket propelled grenade.

Interesting idea for a time-traveling shooter produced b Harry Turtledove, though.
