Hey all. I'm relatively new here but I thought of a thread idea that I thought I'd throw out there. So...I like fashion, it is kind of a Thing with me. It is a fun challenge to find relatively inexpensive items and still be able to style them in interesting and classy ways. One of the only times I get to "dress up" nowadays is when I'm at Mass. The other days my mommy duties take over, and I'm not able to look as pulled-together as I'd like most of the time. Yet another reason I look forward to Sundays! Would the ladies on this forum be interested in sharing some of the outfits they pull together for Mass? I think it could be fun and inspirational. I'm not sure if some might think this type of thread is too superficial...but to be honest, I think the image we present as Catholics is an important witness to our faith. Anyway, I was thinking we could provide links to outfits and specific items, or maybe even put sets together on Polyvore.

Anyway, I'll start. You can see my Polyvore set from today's Mass here!

The dress and shoes are exactly what I wore, the rest is approximate. The only outright lie is the hat...I wish I had worn that, but I wore a black lace snood instead. Wish I had more hats!

Anyone else interested in sharing?

Classy!  That hat is awesome.

Hmm.

A lot of trad moms don't have a lot of money but do have a lot of kids to chase.   If fashion is like your hobby and you like putting together outfits, I'd say you're crazy.  LOL

But I'd also say, maybe you can suggest things and y'all womenfolk can discuss how to put together a nice Sunday outfit on low budget with reusable accessories.  I watch these fashion shows where they talk about having 3 black skirts, 2 blue tops, 3 pins, and you have enough wardrobe combinations for 6 months or something.   Vox doesn't even make me watch them.  I watch them because it's like being in enemy territory behind the lines in the war room.  ;D

Eh, I dunno.  Dunce  I was just thinking that women have a real challenge to be on budget, dress nice, etc.  If you have mad wardrobe skillz and some others here do, help each other out.  Lots of women don't have time, money, or the skills to do this though they are surely blessed in other ways.

OK, I'm going back to the men side to talk about tools and guns now before I lose Man-Points.  Discuss among yourselves.  Tip o' the hat

Yeah, I definitely don't have a lot of money to spend on clothing as I stay at home and hubby is the sole breadwinner. Admittedly, I might have more time than most moms since I only have one child (so far). If this thread doesn't die people will see that I reuse items often! And I absolutely do not have time to think about fashion almost at all during the week (I rely on some fabulous aprons to make myself feel less dowdy), so I make a point to have fun once a week when getting ready for Mass!

Wow that store sounds cool! And I agree, the shoes can make it or break it.

And the bag! I forgot to add mine...it was a Vera Bradley tote in the "sittin' in a tree" print (a gift). Wish I could afford expensive bags, yours sound great! I only recently saw a Coach bag that I really liked, though. I am really, really picky about purses and I buy them almost never because of that.

You are so talented at using only two colors and creating some really unique, beautiful outfits. I definitely could not do that, I love color too much, but your sets really work! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
