Thanks, again. Lunch went well. We talked about the weather and the food and she gave me a hug. I didn't cry. Success!

I realize that this is all we'll probably ever have, and maybe we'll never be close, but we can have lunch sometimes and that will be enough.

Lots of times and in many ways. She doesn't get it apparently. But if we stick to the weather and other silly stuff, maybe it'll never come up again. Mostly she would say it when I talked about my kids or my hoped-for future children or other family stuff.
