Electric air duster. Enough with the cold, expensive (relatively speaking), and inconsistent cans of air.

Used a gift card too, so it will be less than three cans of air in cost (of what I usually buy) at the end: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001J4ZOAW/

That is a pretty cool idea, I may think of getting something like this someday.

I ordered two items from REI Outlet;

A head lamp http://www.rei.com/product/838609/black-diamond-icon-headlamp-2011-closeout

A collapsable bucket for camping http://www.rei.com/product/770096/seattle-sports-pocket-bucket-special-buy

There was an additional 20% off coupon I used for the headlamp, and I'm having them shipped to an REI store near my mom's, where I can pick them up next Thursday, so no shipping cost.

Did you read the one-star reviews?  I always read the one-star reviews on Amazon, often for products I have no intention of buying.  The entertainment value alone is priceless.

This review is from: Metro Vacuum ED500 DataVac 500-Watt 0.75-HP Electric Duster 120-Volt (Tools & Home Improvement)

Unpacked unit upon receiving it, wanting to test it out before using it on any devices. Upon plugging the unit in and turning it on, the device began emitting smoke instead of compressed air. Unit then began to emit flame before I could unplug it. Certainly not how I was expecting this duster to behave.

Hmmm.  It seems other folks had problems with smoke too.  Pity, hope you have better luck.  Tip o' the hat

No seriously, I'd love to see your opinion after you use it.  I might be interested.

Of course.

I also write reviews. Reviews are very important for online shopping.

Sounds awesome. It is a win-win situation. If it works, it is good. It it becomes a flamethrower, that appeals too.

Anti-smoking fanatics always complain a lot.

Of course. I'd be happy to share my thoughts.

For Amazon reviews, it is important to be able to judge the review. Most of the time, a review falls into one of these categories:

* Judging the expectations of the buyer, not the actual product (usually involves not reading descriptions)
* Judging the seller, not the product
* Judging the product

Most people are inclined to express negative opinions rather than positive, so bad reviews are always prominent, as they should be.

This item has 446 reviews with a 4.5 star average. So, negative reviews are good in that they show somebody is not falsifying reviews, and it shows that one can get faulty units. Every product I have ever ordered which had several negative reviews with horrible experiences which were the result of defects like that turned out alright.

I am more concerned with the nozzle being shot off actually. They updated this product to make it latch, so I hope I do not get one of the older units.

But an airgun is cool too.

I think, if it works like the video of the top review shows, it will be well worth it.

It is always good to have the proper tools.

I used Amazon Prime. I get free shipping too.

I just checked the tracking...it may get here today. It is in my city.

The Metro Vacuum ED500 DataVac 500-Watt 0.75-HP Electric Duster 120-Volt works well. It is way better than cans of air in all respects except weight (if I am going somewhere, I'd throw a can of air in my toolbox instead of this most of the time I imagine). It like a reverse powerful vacuum. It has a lot of accessories too.

The nozzle clips on securely now.
