May God grant Fr. Giardina eternal rest.  And may He now smash the walls of Christ the King Abbey down into the dust.

The second sentence sounds like something straight from the pen of Martin Luther.

Poor Fr. Giardina.  Why should he be singled out?

If anyone is poor, it's Christ the King's benefactors who supported him, only to see what they gave turned over to the Novus Ordo church.

If trads had wanted to support a V2-affiliated monastery, there were plenty of others to choose from in the U.S.

Our church gave Christ King a precious stained glass window of St. Benedict.

Do you think we would have parted with that if we suspected that it was going to end up in the hands of the Conciliar Church — which, speaking of Luther, trashed the teaching of Trent when it signed a joint declaration on justification with Luther's successors.

So, no apologies — let God destroy it.

Do you think it was necessary to attack one of the monks who reconciled with the bishop as simple? Couldn't you have just stuck to discussing his position and his actions without bringing his intelligence into the debate?

I had no intention of mocking "the simplicity of the just." He seemed to be a very devout and kind man, and I had some pleasant conversations with him. He had the manner and personality of an ideal lay brother.

But people are wondering how he and the other priest could have done what they did. So my comment was not intended as an attack, but as an explanation.

But you "knew" his position would lead to it, right? It seems to me that the evidence points towards another purpose for your 2007 visit.

Oh what a tangled web we weave ...

I kinda agree. It's amost like the SSPX's benefactors who supported Archbishop Lefebvre, only to see what they gave turned over to sedevacantists.

No tangled web here (perhaps only the cobwebs that seem to continually cloud your thinking). It is quite legitimate to assume that Father Leonard had no problem with the SVs since he himself was blessed as the abbot of the monastery by Bishop McKenna and had sent his monks to him (McKenna) for ordination.

Maybe you'll get lucky and your church will end up in the hands of the Novus Ordo!

Hey, we bought out the Iron Bishop fair and square for $350,000, minus the 40% discount his lawyers gave us. So no complaints please!

If you want to read all about it, see:

The Nine vs. Lefebvre: We Resist You to Your Face
http://www.traditionalmass.org/images/articles/NineVLefebvre.pdf

So now, will the Bishop of Birmingham offer half  the monastery assets to the expelled sede monks for their support?

Father as a bit of an aside:

Do you remember the chapel in Oyster Bay Cove Long Island NY?
I went to my first TLM there in 1983.
It was the occasion of my uncle, Father Christopher Hunters ordination.
I met Archbishop Lefebvre after Mass and being only 14 I do not remember much of HE.

Is that pretty chapel part of the SSPX still?

Yes, maybe it will be sold (for $320,000) and the money goes right into Fr. Cekada's SGG account. Maybe he'll take a $142,000 in cash (in the building fund account) as well.

This actually happened. I have all the documentation and details if you're interested.

How much did you and Bishop Daniel Dolan offer to the people in Columbus when you sold their church out from under them and stole their building fund?

It ended up with SSPV and it's still in operation. Our $350K buyoff to Abp. Lefebvre was secured by a mortgage on the Oyster Bay Cove property.

Your uncle was a student of mine and I played the organ for his ordination in November 1982. He was a very nice guy, and took a lot of good-natured kidding from everyone about his Second Amendment views.

I have two of the ordination photos in my album. which is on my bookshelf, a few feet away from where I am writing this. (No guns, by the way, were used at his ordination.)
