So Wulfrano,  All the people who are praying for the "pope" to do the collegial consecration of Russia, as requested by Our Blessed Mother at Fatima, are just wasting their effort?  In that case, the whole Fatima drama was quite the dud!

The consecration was made long ago by Pope Pius XII and I have a surprise for you.  Today, Russia is no longer communist.  In fact, today, Russia is christian, as in Russian Orthodox Christian.  Even Putin and Medvedev go to church and kiss the icon of Our Lady.

Um, supposing there was no Pope right now and no cardinals, why would it be impossible to elect a new Pope?  Christ did not ordain that the Pope could only be elected by the College of Cardinals.

You're right. Christ did no so ordain. He left it up to the Church to decide how the Pope should be chosen. However, the law as it exists requires the College of Cardinals to elect the Pope. Only the Pope can change that law. No Pope to change the law and no cardinals to elect a Pope=impasse.

I'm pretty sure if the Pope died and all the cardinals were raptured, the remaining bishops could validly elect a new pope.  This isn't Dogma where two fallen angels can negate a divine command of God and make the universe implode.

What you say is pure fantasy.  Benedict XVI will die; but no Cardinal will be ruptered... excuse me.... raptured.  The remaining bishops are all in Apostasy.  No valid Pope could possibly come out of them.  Fallen angels have no power other than that allowed by God Almighty.  The fact is that we have run out of time.  Check the apocalyptic clock.

Ok, I gotcha... Roman Catholic, Russian Orthodox, Coptic it's all the same.  The only thing that matters is if you kiss icons!   Rolling eyes

No it isn't dogma, but it is the law. I accept Benedict as Pope and I'm sure that God will not have the Pope die and take all the Cardinals at the same time, because then it would be impossible to elect a Pope. And as to all the Bishops electing the Pope, that would, indeed, be a modernist innovation, since it's never been done in the history of the Church. A better argument would be the people of Rome or the Bishops of the Roman province. At least there's historical precedent there, but it would still be illicit and invalid.

I have more in common with Putin and Medvedev who reverently kiss an icon of Our Lady than with Protestants, Jews, Moslems, Hindus, Buddhists, Pagans, Witches, Warlocks, Masons,  Evolutionists and other Hell-bound species.

I must remind you that the so-called "Rapture" is a purely Protestant fictional fairy tale.

It sounds to me like you have a lot in common with Paul VI, like his faith in Ostpolitik.  Shrug

Putin and Medvedev right now are schismatics because they belong to the Russian Orthodox Church.  OK.  But they show love and respect for Our Lady.  That is a good sign of conversion.

Dear Jovan:  I'm beyond "sedevacantist".  I'm "sedefinitist".
