A friend of mine posted this picture of me and my dear, dear friend from many years ago.  This is back in my party days, before conversion, and it pains me to see this picture.  She had recently gotten out of jail after going down with her drug-dealer boyfriend and was struggling with finding work and getting off drugs.  I occasionally attempt to look for her online but the only records I can find are of her period of incarceration.  This picture reminds me that I really need to continue to pray for her and any prayers from the board are much appreciated.  She's the blonde and her name is Oksana.  I pray that her many troubles have ceased and that she finds conversion and comfort in our Lord.

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.– Buddha

Note: According to this precept, I find that Buddhism is NOT true.  I have tested and judged many things, and the only Truth I have found is in God's One True Church: The Catholic Church.

Dear Lord, I know I can live by Your Holy Will every moment of my life, because You have given me faith that Your Grace will enable me to.

The man who does not have enough of loving Christ will never have enough of fighting against those who hate Christ.
-St. John Chrysostom

I thank God that I live in a day when the enemy is outside the Church, and I know where he is and what he is up to. But, I foresee a day when the enemy will be both outside and inside the Church . . . and I pray now for the poor faithful who will be caught in the crossfire.

"O souls, redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ, take these things to heart; have mercy on yourselves! If you realize your pitiable condition, how can you refrain from trying to remove the darkness from the crystal of your souls? Remember, if death should take you now, you would never again enjoy the light of this Sun. O Jesus! how sad a sight must be a soul deprived of light! "
