For those of us who missed the post about how much it costs to run, or can't figure out how many of us are active here, or are just bad at math: What is the quotient when you do the division?
Members - 10,000 and some-odd......well over half, let me estimate 60% by eyeballing, with 0 posts ever. Out of the remaining let's say 4,000, a good portion will be bots. Even so, there HAVE to be several hundred active posters. And to start from the other end - the top 150 posters, the 1st 2 pages of the member list if you sort by descending post count, are the folks who need to be thinking about donating. (I don't exclude myself - I'm square in that category.) If you have got 1,000 or more posts, and you are hitting this site daily, or nearly so - I suggest that it would be fair to think about $5 a month. 150 x 5 = $750 a month.

Hang in there Vox. We're all pulling and praying for you.
You've been unbelievably cool, patient, fair, and forgiving with this entire thing. You'll find your footing soon.

and posted -- not "as" me, but "just" using my account). There is a Quis, there is a Vox, and there is some broad out there posing as Ty, Sarah, MoreCoffee, and the good Lord knows who else. I do not believe for one minute that this poseur-person is suffering from MPD, schizophrenia, or anything else than a case of drama-lust and lust for something else, namely Quis. This is my opinion for reasons I won't go into, but that is my opinion. Check out her Facebook page.
I've only been here since March & I've read more than posted, but I'm staying. I read all of the posts about "Laura Bookworm's death" & I, too, was fooled. Therefore, I can't let the fact that Quis fell for it bother me. Besides, have any of you read CA. lately. If not, go to what I laughingly call the "Traditional Catholic" section & read the latest on Religious Communities. I cannot go back to that, so your stuck with me.

Can't we just drop it???
This. I can't say I understand the need to know in such detail. (I realize I say this mostly as an outsider.) I think Vox is to be commended, doing her best to be forthcoming, but this is truly a situation that doesn't make much sense to begin with. I think she has already gone beyond the call of duty in explaining it. It has to be heartbreaking and I can only believe that at this point moving on is by far the very best thing to do. This. Plus prayers for Vox, Quis, and all involved. And thank you to Quis and Vox for all they did in the past to make this site possible. THIS! And how's about we stop asking Vox questions about her private life and/or discussing it on a public forum? Basta! (Enough!)

"Courage, dear brothers! Probably half of us are in our old age. Old age, they say, is the seat of wisdom. The old ones have the wisdom that they have earned from walking through life. Like old Simeon and Anna at the temple whose wisdom allowed them to recognize Jesus. Let us give with wisdom to the youth: like good wine that improves with age, let us give the youth the wisdom of our lives."
"Let us never give in to pessimism, to that bitterness that the devil offers us every day. Do not give in to pessimism and discouragement. We have the firm certainty that the Holy Spirit gives the Church with His mighty breath, the courage to persevere and also to seek new methods of evangelization, to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth."
Pope Francis 15 March 2013 Excerpts from First Address to College of Cardinals Given in the Clementine Hall, the Vatican

While I feel it is good to get the history of this situation cleared up by threads like this from the principle parties involved I really dont see how its mine or most other FE members damn business. As fluffy said...lets just drop it. Im begining to wonder if the entire forum might be destructive at its core

Being afraid to ask questions is what drove us here in the first place. The private details about the "Laura Affair" became public by Quis and Vox's own volition. The hoax affected the whole forum and its credibility. Unfortunately, it was not a simple private matter.

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)
"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome
"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch

The hoax affected the whole forum and its credibility. Unfortunately, it was not a simple private matter. It wasn't by my volition. I wasn't even here at the forum. And my private life was made public by another; I would have preferred things to be otherwise, most definitely. I think the forum members -- at least those who got caught up on either side of the "Laura thing" -- deserve an explanation and answers about that and are owed apologies for how it was handled, but I don't think anyone has a right to know anything about my private life. What is public record and can be found in County offices and such is public record, but the details of my marriage are no one's business but mine, Quis's, our relevant priests', and God's.
