I was finally able to overcome my doubts and social anxiety enough to go to Mass this morning with a friend. :chleader:Thankfully, it was at a different parish so I didn't feel so on-the-spot. I didn't receive Communion since I figured that I should probably talk to a priest first and maybe go to Confession, but I do feel a lot better. The atmosphere is completely different from the old parish, which I think helped a lot.

Here's one of the most beautiful, moving and theologically rich passages in Scripture to me: Christ's discourse to Nicodemus. It encapsulates God's sacrificing love towards us sinners, the miracle of baptism, the gratuity of faith and the liberty of the spirit which is the hallmark of the true religion delivered by God. Thank you, Lord, for continuing to speak and inspire us to this day in the words of Holy Scripture. This is a remedy against scrupulosity and despair. I hope this helps you too, Servire Deo. "And there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night, and said to him: Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God; for no man can do these signs which thou dost, unless God be with him. Jesus answered, and said to him: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith to him: How can a man be born when he is old?
