Well, I've been watching Lawrence of Arabia as I fall asleep the last few nights.

Adds a different perspective to the film, knowing that he was a masochist and asexual, or gay.
For real?
Or is that just a rumour?

It's on wikipedia.  It has to be real.

"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?"  St. John Chrysostom Sunday Homily

Last night, watched Loups=Garrous on Blu-ray.  Slightly disappointed after waiting so long to see it.  Today, saw the new Polanski movie, Carnage.

In theaters:  Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Care to give us a brief review?  I have the book on hold at the library because I want to read it before seeing the movie...

The movie's greatest strength is its actors - good performances all around.  Used one or two more montages than necessary.  Pacing was occasionally sluggish.  I think it succeeded in showing a distinct spirit of Cold War era patriotism and intrigue.  I want to see it again, but am currently debating whether to return to the theater this week or wait for the Blu-ray.  Maybe now this thread will be my impetus for the first option...

Indeed the movie's greatest strength is it's actors-Gary Oldman and Colin Firth both are bloody brilliant! I still want to see this-I guess I should then write an email to Alfie and tell him what I thought of the movie. Alfie-as in Alfie Oldman, yes I do know him(kind of) I have not met him but I found him when he had a facebook, and I got his email address that way. Quite like for a while I was friends on facebook with Hero Fiennes and well-Mariska Hargitay's brother Mickey Hargitay sent me a facebook message when to this day I still have. Yes-yes this just confirms my opinion that "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy," would be a good movie to see!

I preserve my reading time if I find any to spiritual stuff.    Was the book good, they usually are better because our brains are better movie producers then brad pitt.
