Non-smoking is for meeting the grandkids one day (or becoming a bishop).

Smoking is for smoking out of a hole in your neck.

I thank God that I live in a day when the enemy is outside the Church, and I know where he is and what he is up to. But, I foresee a day when the enemy will be both outside and inside the Church . . . and I pray now for the poor faithful who will be caught in the crossfire.

Cigars and pipes are for different purposes.

Pipes make you smart.

Cigars make you impetuous.

Pipes are contemplative.

Cigars are brash.

Pipes are for reading literature.

Cigars are for mowing the lawn.

They both have their place, but some have more of a place than others.

I really like this. But I do have to say...having smoked both for years, I really enjoy cigars more. Maybe because I can afford to smoke decent ones more often now.

I've only been a pipe smoker for a couple of years, but I still smoke cigars.

I agree on the thing about good cigars being worth it.  It does help a lot.  Still, cigars are for moments when you want to be BIG and LOUD, whereas a pipe encourages you to be quiet and still.

Funny thing is that the only cigar smoker I really know actually IS loud.    LOL

A case in point: Evelyn Waugh's youthful dalliances with pipe-smoking and unnatural vice...

He looks happier in the first photo.

I don't smoke often, but when I do, I prefer these:

This thread is in dire need of some EllisSpear apologetics.

I have a hookah, as well (a gift from the wife), but I don't find it as satisfying as either pipes or tobacco. The taste is not as bold as pipes or cigars.

ETA: Plus, you can't go walking around with one.  Now watch someone post a picture of a portable hookah.
