Fisheaters is a strange place.

How do we know he's in Hell?

So you don't believe that if someone dies excommunicated that they are outside of the Church and can't be saved?

Do you believe in perfect contrition at the hour of death?

For Luther, no.

I don't have to defend my position, as it's what the Church teaches.  By what cause do you say that Luther is absolutely and irrefutably in Hell?

Matthew 7:19 "Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. "

Likewise, a few sentences earlier, Matthew 7:1-2 "Judge not, that you may not be judged, For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again."

That's a protestant interpretation.  But I guess you're ok with that, right?  You're defending Luther after all and essentially defending protestantism.  You probably defend Judas too.  I might even add when our Lord said it would be better off it he hadn't been born, you would have responded to our Lord from the crowd with "Judge not, that you may not be judged"

You are quite wrong on all counts. I've been on Fisheaters for 5 years now and I've rarely seen a post that is 100% wrong with every sentence like yours is.

It is exactly the Catholic interpretation to leave judgment to God.

I do not defend Luther. I just accept that it's not my job to pass judgment on his soul.

I do not defend Judas. I just accept that it's not my job to pass judgment on his soul.

When Our Lord said it would be better off if he hadn't been born, I would NOT have responded the way you assume.  You see, it is HIS job to pass judgment on his soul.  Not mine.

These prayers can only refer to the souls trapped in Purgatory, not in Hell.

To believe that souls condemned to everlasting torments can be released therefrom is a vile heresy.
As I was saying, I agree  with what Vetus Ordo wrote.

But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. Let's be honest: if Martin Luther is in heaven we're all taking this faith stuff way too seriously...

Not really. Luther could have repented at the last moment of his life and saved his soul. We will not know with certainty until we die!

People, since we don't know for certain (aside from recognized saints) who is heaven, how are we to know who is in hell?

Leave the judging to the Judge, Jesus Christ! "From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead."
