I think Mr. Carroll is making a lot of sense. It is dangerous for traditionalists to effectively separate themselves from the Pope and the Church by putting his every behavior under a microscope.

Putting the Pope's "every behavior under a microscope" is firstly a statement that belies a bias. Second, even if that were granted, that does not separate someone from the Pope and the Church effectively or any other way. Maybe the Holy See should post a warning. Warning: Actually paying attention to what the Pope does and calling a spade a spade can be dangerous to one's faith.

1) The pope effectively separated himself and the conciliar church from tradition - not the other way around - and yes, that is a dangerous, even suicidal thing to do. This is why he needs our prayers. 2) No need for a microscope, his every behavior is broadcast world wide over TV, radio and web for all except those who are physically blind to see.

Of course, I was hoping the accusation of "Protestantism" would soon come out of his mouth. We just needed to push him around a bit.
This bloke, Terry Caroll, is pure poison. Just reading his excuses for RCTV's intellectual cowardice makes my stomach churn.
This. Pretty much sums it all up.

My hope is in Christ, who strengthens the weakest by His Divine help. I can do all in Him who strengthens me. His Power is infinite, and if I lean on him, it will be mine. His Wisdom is infinite, and if I look to Him for counsel, I shall not be deceived. His Goodness is infinite, and if my trust is stayed in Him, I shall not be abandoned.
-- Pope Saint Pius X
For those born after Pius XII, a strong, good Pope is a history lesson and a hope for the future, not a reality we've ever lived. - Gerard

Then perhaps it's time for a different critique of Mr. M. V. . . . . . .sounds like the author of this video is sede. This is the first of my three-part series critiquing Michael Voris of Real Catholic TV. In this first part, I discuss his objective role in the conciliar counter-church and begin to touch on some of the substance of his message.

Both sides have points here. I was just watching Stephen's new video interviewing David Allen White, and he talks about the bickering and divisions, and how we are all monderists now, protestants now, liberals now. He points out how almost all of us make compromises with the modern world. (He uses the analogy of compromising with a murderer, to gain his favor in some way.) But the bickering, and division, and the mini-Popes. It is symptomatic of the problems in the Church. We are just as prone to fall into the Devil's clutches, even though we think ourselves righteous. Any discussion amongst trads can range from utterly inspiring and community building, to utterly disgusting and uncharitable.

Unless it absorbs the gift of the Spirit through faith, the mind has the ability to know God, but lacks the light necessary for that knowledge. This unique gift which is in Christ is offered in its fullness to everyone. It is everywhere available, but it is given to each man in proportion to his readiness to receive it. Its presence is fuller, the greater a man's desire to be worthy of it. This gift will remain with us until the end of the world, and will be our comfort in the time of waiting.

Those confused by RealCatholicTV's approach would do well to read this essay: http://www.dailycatholic.org/issue/2002Oct/oct9tra.htmExcerpt: "As the human element of the Church collapses everywhere in scandal and liturgical and doctrinal degradation, the neo-Catholics do nothing but complain bitterly about local abuses, while waving a banner containing the slogan that has overcome reason itself in the neo-Catholic mind: 'John Paul II, we love you.' But this isn’t love we are seeing. It is a form of idolization that in fact does the Pope and the Church a terrible disservice."

The site "Daily Catholic" is like reading a bad Archie Comic, with anti-Catholic characters.
