I've mentioned my history teacher before. At best he is completely wrong when he goes off on tangents against Christianity and at worst he's explicitly blasphemous.
I just want to get my homework and do the coursework. I pray when these things happen. I've mentioned things before, just pointing out that his opinion on whatever he has an opinion on is truly wrong (not in so many words) but it just deviates the class more.
It's a two hour class that meets twice a week with only about 3 weeks left and we have barely done half the syllabus because he loves to go on these tangents. It's mainly just super typical atheistic propaganda that truly lacks any sort of fundamental understanding of anything.
Aside from what I've mentioned, it also sucks that I'm learning pretty much zero in this class. I'm getting an A so that's fine, but it just sucks.

I ground my faith upon Jesus Christ, and by Him I steadfastly believe to be saved, as is taught in the Catholic Church through all Christendom, and promised to remain with Her unto the world's end, and hell gates shall not prevail against it: and by God's assistance I mean to live and die in the same faith; for if an angel come from heaven, and preach any other doctrine than we have received, the Apostle biddeth us not to believe him. Therefore, if I should follow your doctrine, I should disobey the Apostle's commandment. -St. Margaret Clitherow, while in prison

I've been in this position a few times before. Once, I dropped the class because I was so angry (and the guy was a complete, illogical idiot who couldn't answer a question straight to save his life).
As you have so little left, I'd say stick with it. Get it out of the way. Pray short prayers in reparation for the blasphemy ("Sacred Heart of Jesus, convert all poor blasphemers! - 300 day indulgence btw) and when you have an opportunity to discuss intelligently, take it. Just be sure to do it in a calm and charitable manner- it's not gonna help him, but hopefully you can be a good example to susceptible minds in the classroom.

i think it depends. if it was me depending on what he was saying against christianity i would either speak against him if i knew id be able to or stay quiet if theres a chance i may say something wrong, since i am no apologetic and don't want to misrepresent and end up doing more harm them good.
if he is however being explicitly blasphemous then no matter what i would think you should try to get him to stop, you should tell him if hes that angry with Christ maybe he should step outside and cool off for a few minutes and come back to teach when hes ready.

Ehh... whenever your prof goes into digression mode, just lean back in your chair and think of England. Flaming bag of dog poop on his front step. Problem solved.
This would also work.

Is it that important that you pass the class? If not, I would challenge him at every turn and draw the truth out of him in class, in front of all. But of course do it in a charitable way.

I've addressed him minimally. The problem is that I would actually like to learn something about world civilizations in this class, as I'm sure others would. That's why we've paid for school and taken the class.

Look up school policy concerning harassment and religious content in classes.
Always use what the system you paid for offers when available.
