Sex: Female

Age as of posting date: 20

Birthdate: September 1, 1991

Patron Saint by Confirmation: (soon to be) St Cecilia

Number of children (e.g. born from: former valid marriage that ended in death of spouse; invalid marriage; rape; past sins, etc. No need to enter details here! Just list number of children you care for): 0

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Would you relocate if you met the right person? To get married, yes. To date, no. But, I have nothing against frequent travel

EF, SSPX, both, or other? Right now, I go to an SSPX chapel

Novus Ordo if that's all there is? Yes

Introvert or extravert? Extravert

Keirsey personality type: No idea

Ethnic heritage: Black/ African-American

Is meeting someone of like ethnicity very important to you, just a bonus, or unimportant? Not at all

Is there an ideal age range for the person you'd like to marry? 20 to 28 or so

How important is this? I would prefer someone to be around my age or a little older. Not too old or younger than me

In what manner do you interpret the Church's approval of NFP? It's fine in certain circumstances but, for me, I think the most natural form of family planning is being open to what may (or may not) happen. That said, as NFP is endorsed by the Church, I think you walk a fine line when you judge those who chose to use this method.

What would the headship of the husband look like in your ideal home? The husband is the benevolent leader. He acts out of love and I follow, but not passively. I would walk with him. He takes the first step and has the final decision on the path. He makes decisions out of love for the Lord and his family. Basically, I commit to submit to him as the Church submits to Christ and he commits to love me as Christ loves the Church.

How do you feel about women working outside the home? I think part time jobs are fine as long as they don't cause separation. However, once you have children, they are your full time job. I fully intend to homeschool my children.

How do you feel about women in pants? I prefer skirts and am making the tedious transition to only wearing skirts (not an easy task in Chicago). I don't think wearing pants is a sin but I do believe in being feminine and that, in most cases, skirts are the most modest option.

Of the seven deadly sins (pride, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, anger, envy), which is the most challenging for you? Probably pride, but I think everyone struggles with all of these at some time or another and that pride is at the root or all of these sins.

What would others say are your annoying habits or bothersome attributes? I'm a really energetic person and, sometimes, I think my almost constant enthusiasm can be wearing.

What are the most important things you desire in a spouse? Love of God, Church, and fellow man, faithfulness, a good father, and a love for me.

Things you absolutely would not tolerate in a potential spouse: Cheating, anger issues, distant or aloof, feels like they're "settling", dictatorial, someone I can't trust to lead well, immaturity

What, if anything, have you learned from past relationships with the opposite sex? Pray. The Lord knows what He's doing way more than I do.

Political ideals: Independent. I don't really like politics but, if you think back to those ridiculous WWJD bumper stickers, I think they pose a good question when deciding on political issues.

Education: Some college.

Employment: High School Physics and Chemistry Teacher

Health: Great

Allergies: None

Smoke? No

Drink? I'm under-age so, no

Night owl or morning lark? Both. I tend to stay up late but I love the feeling of waking up in the morning with a brand new day ahead of me.

How messy or disorganized are you? Super organized. I asked for a label maker for my 10th birthday.

What makes you laugh? Dumb jokes, light sarcasm, irony, children, unexpected randomness

What are the little things that please or delight you? Dandelions, warm rain, sunshine, smiles, hugs

What would you like to be doing in 10 years ideally? In 10 years, I would hope to be a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom.

If you continue on your present course and don't meet the person of your dreams, what do you think you actually will be doing given your gifts and goals? I'll probably be teaching in the United states or volunteering in a foreign country.

Intellectual interests: Math, Theology, Music, Non-Fiction

Hobbies: Learning to sew and play the guitar, spending time with my friends, board games (academic and social, not role player or fantasy), reading, writing, cooking, journaling, photography

Talents: what are you good at? Working with kids, organizing, photography, encouraging, word games

Top 5 Favorite books of all time: The Bible (I actually enjoy reading it), Community and Growth by Jean Vanier, Little Women (nostalgia), Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard, and The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis

The last 5 books you read (don't lie!). Are these books typical of you?: Forever and Ever, Amen by Sister Karol Jackowski, The New Faithful: Why Young Adults Are Embracing Orthodoxy, Stalking the Divine, The Big Book of Women Saints, and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This is pretty typical or what I usually read.

Music you actually listen to most often: Choral music, Country, some CCM, Indie

Favorite movies/TV shows: My favorite movie is The Sound of Music. I don't own a TV, I prefer reading.

Favorite foods: I love brussel sprouts. I'm not even kidding.

Serious pet peeves: Being mean or inconsiderate, condescension

Pets you have, pets you desire, pets you'd put up with: I would love a dog, but not a small one.

Idea of a romantic evening: Flowers, eating dinner, and then a walk. But, I don't really think there's a formula for a romantic date.

There's no such thing as "same sex marriage." Marriage is between one man and one woman. Period.

We are what you once were.
We believe what you once believed.
We worship as you once worshipped.
If you were right then, we are right now.
If we are wrong now, you were wrong then.

There is nothing more necessary to the survival of the Church than the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; to hide it from sight is to shake the foundations of the Church. The whole Christian, religious, priestly life rests on the Cross, on the Holy Sacrifice of the Cross renewed on the altar. --- Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

I beg you to pray for priests, most especially those on the road to Hell. They do not enter there alone, but with thousands of others that have followed them.

OP,

As the wife of an "in search of a spouse" thread success story, I wish you luck.

P.S. Do you happen to attend Our Lady Immaculate?

So, you're from VA but teach in Chicago.  How'd that come about it? Seems like a big "jump."

I moved to an intentional Christian community to do a discipleship program and, after graduating, I ended up staying and teaching at their school.
