Please point me to the very best book you know of on traditional Catholic political philosophy. Thanks in advance.

Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity."

I don't know if it would meet your expectations of being "traditional," but Fr. James Schall has a series of essays entitled (not very creatively) Roman Catholic Political Philosophy that you might find interesting. ETA: A quick search of Schall's political works on Amazon yielded this: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=roman+catholic+politcal+philosophy+schall&x=0&y=0

"But Christianity preaches an obviously unattractive idea, such as original sin; but when we wait for its results, they are pathos and brotherhood, and a thunder of laughter and pity; for only with original sin we can at once pity the beggar and distrust the king." -- G. K. Chesterton (1874-1936)

I have that. His writing is more idiosyncratic than I'm looking for. But thanks.

If only Jackson K. Eskew was still here. He could offer some good advice.
Yet, for some reason I feel his presence nearby.
I almost feel as if he was only a post away from me.
Weird.

Idiosyncratic how, if I may ask?

Idiosyncratic how, if I may ask? His writing has a breezy laterality that places it outside of what I'm seeking at the moment.

Fair enough. I'm sorry that I'm not much help to you, then.

I haven't gotten around to reading him just yet, but I've heard good things about Ernest Fortin. Might be worth a shot.
