So he trained himself to have impure thoughts at the sight of modestly dressed women?

Does anyone need me to explain further why the trad obsession with modesty is so incredibly harmful?

That's not really fair to say.  People in the world are desensitized to a looooot of things, even "good" Catholics and "good" protestants.  Somebody attempting to perfect himself may simply be more keenly aware of the depravity of something we take for granted (or are desensitized to).  This may not be one of those situations from where you're sitting, but it is for him, so instead of tearing him down and assuming the ugliest possible interpretation, why don't you just offer a prayer for his continued sanctification?

He's creating a bad example. He needs to be condemned.

"Tenthly, one should pour tea into the cup first. This is one of the most controversial points of all; indeed in every family in Britain there are probably two schools of thought on the subject. The milk-first school can bring forward some fairly strong arguments, but I maintain that my own argument is unanswerable. This is that, by putting the tea in first and stirring as one pours, one can exactly regulate the amount of milk, whereas one is liable to put in too much milk if one does it the other way round."

It's a spiritual work of mercy.  I know you know that.

I don't think anybody around here would ever dare take advantage or think less of you if you condemn people a little more gently.

Why so aggressive sometimes?  Don't even claim the red tractor makes you do it...We're all in need of a little light from time to time.

I don't take it lightly when I see perves perving.

ETA. You should be lecturing him, not me. Did you read his excessively weird comments? Turn your attention elsewhere.

I have a feeling it wasn't the clothes they thought immodest. They just saw young, pretty girls and WHAM!. Because, really, those clothes are fine.

I don't take it lightly when I see perves perving.

There are in heaven saints who struggled with the same temptations.  Giving in makes him a perv; fighting it is what will make him a saint.  But it must be disheartening for anybody to give an honest personal reaction to something and immediately be shouted down by one of the most well-liked, top posters as nothing more than a perv perving.  That's not gentle or instructive.

I get paid to lecture.  I'm not lecturing you.

Yes.  Does that give anybody a right to be uncharitable?
