I happened to come across the Rebecca Black Friday video on a friend's Facebook (given that today is Friday and all) and decided to listen to the opening lines to see if they'd improved with age... when I made the shocking discovery that FRIDAY IS IN FACT A STONER SONG! Seven AM waking up in the morning Gotta be fresh gotta go downstairs Gotta have my bowl gotta have cereal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think about the lyrics that follow in the video - would anyone who isn't stoned make the kinds of observations Black sings? Well the chorus is "gotta get a dime on Friday" so I thought everyone already knew. Every time I watch that video the people in it look younger.

I'm sorry, but no stoner, self respecting or otherwise, gets up at seven AM.

When you go up to receive communion, you're literally at the foot of the cross. Standing at all creation's center, the saints gather around. Martyrs, heroes staring into your very being. They lived AND died for Christ... can we say the same of ourselves? What are WE doing to further God's will in this life? Skipping Mass for our careers? Our education? Voting for heads of state, that don't recognize the source of all authority and power? They won't matter on your deathbed (or whatever end we meet).
So... why waste time with this modern world's nonsense? We have our own civilization: CHRISTENDOM. We must restore it whilst the modern world commits societal suicide.
Its naive and idealistic to believe government for man by man can succeed. Restore Christendom in our hearts and homes! Communities aren't that far off, its a numbers game.
"Accursed is the man that puts his trust in man" Book of Jeremiah Chapter XVII, verse 5.

Only if they have to go to school. I knew some kids at my high school that "hotboxed" their car every morning before school.

"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?" St. John Chrysostom Sunday Homily

Actually, I'm really starting to see what you're talking about. Front seat? Back Seat?? WHICH SEAT SHOULD I TAKE?!??!???!? If I take the front seat, I'm second in the circle, but the cops can see me more easily. If I take the back seat, the cops might not see me but I've gotta wait THREE WHOLE PEOPLE TO HIT THAT PIPE!!!!

Maybe Vetus Ordo can comment on this: http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2011/07/05/ten-years-after-decriminalization-drug-abuse-down-by-half-in-portugal/Ten Years After Decriminalization, Drug Abuse Down by Half in Portugal
Drug warriors often contend that drug use would skyrocket if we were to legalize or decriminalize drugs in the United States. Fortunately, we have a real-world example of the actual effects of ending the violent, expensive War on Drugs and replacing it with a system of treatment for problem users and addicts.
Ten years ago, Portugal decriminalized all drugs. One decade after this unprecedented experiment, drug abuse is down by half:
Health experts in Portugal said Friday that Portugal’s decision 10 years ago to decriminalise drug use and treat addicts rather than punishing them is an experiment that has worked.
"There is no doubt that the phenomenon of addiction is in decline in Portugal," said Joao Goulao, President of the Institute of Drugs and Drugs Addiction, a press conference to mark the 10th anniversary of the law.
The number of addicts considered "problematic" — those who repeatedly use "hard" drugs and intravenous users — had fallen by half since the early 1990s, when the figure was estimated at around 100,000 people, Goulao said.
Other factors had also played their part however, Goulao, a medical doctor added.
"This development can not only be attributed to decriminalisation but to a confluence of treatment and risk reduction policies."
Many of these innovative treatment procedures would not have emerged if addicts had continued to be arrested and locked up rather than treated by medical experts and psychologists. Currently 40,000 people in Portugal are being treated for drug abuse. This is a far cheaper, far more humane way to tackle the problem. Rather than locking up 100,000 criminals, the Portuguese are working to cure 40,000 patients and fine-tuning a whole new canon of drug treatment knowledge at the same time.
None of this is possible when waging a war.

That is interesting, however, when people cite European nations to show something, it must be carefully considered whether it could apply elsewhere. Portugal probably has a very different drug trade, if any. does it have a steady, profitable, supply of drugs coming from the south? Does it have extensive criminal organisations pushing the trade? As I wrote earlier, I suppose decriminalisation of drugs. I do not think drug use will go down though. I think it will go up a little for some drugs, but this does not matter because it is a choice to use most of them (at least, marijuana). I do not think the US has an interest in "winning" the "war on drugs". It prefers a constant battle.
