Vox, purely out of curiosity, why did Bombay not get banned for his comments to Voxx(pop)?

Don't think that gold fish gives you special nosey neighbor rights, son.  Know your place.

Piss off, Bombay.  It was a sincere question.

I realize that there is a history of activity upon which this reaction is based, but I must admit that it looks really bad to those who aren't aware of it.

God Bless Vetus.

We didn't always agree, though we usually did, and I miss him.  I grew quite a bit in the faith because he pushed me to do so -- and that means a lot.

le to not know that the Church has a history of having problems with Jews who falsely convert. I'm willing to entertain the idea that Jayne loves a Jesus. Just not the Jesus St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Joan of Arc, St. Gertrude the Great, St. John Chrysostom, and St. Francis of Assisi love. The Jesus Jayne loves is some Talmudized/Protestantized version of the real Jesus. Her views of the Jews are compatible with the Spirit of Vatican II, but not with Church Tradition. This is a traditional Catholic forum, is it not?

I just realized that this thread is taking place in the subforum where newcomers post their introductory posts.  They are very likely to come across this thread which, due to my deliberate efforts to disrupt it, is not likely to make a good impression.  Vox, if you think it would help fix things to delete all my posts in this thread, I'm fine with that.  Or possibly moving the whole thing to "Pig Roast" would help.

I apologize for my thoughtlessness.

Vetus, wherever you are... I think where I had doubts before, I have of late come around to seeing that a great many of your opinions were, in fact, entirely accurate.

Tonight, I dedicate my Matins to you!

Vetus will be missed. Back in October, when I made the Fisheaters theme song montage video, I dedicated a 15 second spot just for a post from him.

It was creepy that he wrote it and creepy that you thought it worth featuring.  Despising Jews is not a central tenet of Catholicism.
Jaynek, just can it! This is not about you. I won't fall for your bait.
Vetus, you will be missed!

Your name is bait.  I think most people realize that you did not choose the name Gottmittuns because you are a good little kitten who found its mittens and you shall have some pie.  It was engraved on the belt buckles of Nazi soldiers.  No wonder some people think that trads are Nazi sympathizers.

I never gave his name a second thought. I certainly did not start playing a nursery rhyme in my head every time my eyes beheld his handle. Never would I do so, but I can certainly see where some may unjustly call you a crypto based on this highly-tuned sensitivity and finding of things that may be Anit-Semitic or Pro-Nazi. I did not know this was engraved on the belts of Nazi soldiers. How do you know this? Did you unbuckle a few? Of course, I mean that in the sense as to trying them on in a military surplus store.

You even questioned, or should I say accused,  Beatus Vir sometime ago. You accused her of taking a name that means "man" to try and fool everyone as to her sex. One of the most brilliant posters I have ever had the pleasure to read, by the way. Since then. She doesn't show up here anymore.

Now you want to analyze Hector's name. I see you even started it as a topic in another forum. What's with all the analysis, Jayne? Especially since your analysis is the real baiting going on here. Sometimes a name is just a name. And a cigar is just a cigar. You might want to just accept it and you may find yourself more content. Unless, of course, you believe it your job to sniff out any anti-semitism here and report back to the higher ups of some organization that likes to keep tabs on places where Traditional Catholics congregate. Say hello to Abe for me.

I too am starting to come around to some of those opinions.

I was born in the 1950s and raised on stories of Nazi persecution.  It was very fresh in everyone's mind then.  As a girl, it was the central feature of my Jewish identity, as it would have been for most Jews of that time and place.

I did not intend to be harsh in my comments and I am very sorry if I dissuaded her from posting here.

As an undergrad I did a major in Linguistics and I am currently studying Latin.  Languages and words fascinate me.  I am always thinking about where they came from and how they are connected.  It is a lot of fun for me and does not interfere with my sense of contentment.

To all you people whining about "Vetus called me this..." grow up.  You are obviously ignorant of the fact that many saints were by no means friends with other saints on earth.  Yes, even saints got into disagreements.   And living in a large family, if me and my siblings all held on to what everyone said in the past, we would be at each other's throats all the time. Forgive and forget.
Anyway, I hope Vetus' ban is lifted, he was vital to FE.

I hope his ban does get lifted but the only person 'vital' to FE is Vox who runs and pays for a lot of it

A forum isn't much without interesting, intelligent people Eye-roll

There are still a few of us left.   Sticking tongue out at you

Gott Mitt uns is a great slogan. Go German Pride. My Grandparents had a plaque on their wall that had a picture of the sacred heart and it said Gott Mitt Uns. It was at least 100 years old.  My guess is since Jayne is such an anti-German she must be French or Israeli.
