Eli had a subpar team around him.

Dude.  What?  Absolutely NO team wins the Super Bowl by being sub-par.  The Giants won a championship with Eli throwing for under 300 yards and only one touchdown.  That's not a QB making the win on his own.  That's a team effort.  You don't win Super Bowls throwing for one touchdown.

Are you from New York, OS?  Have you watched the Giants very much this season?  They have one of the best defenses in the league, a great running back tandem, and a top 3 receiving corps.  They're anything but sub-par.

Also, stop with the Eli beat Brady crap.  The defense beat Brady.  If you want to compare stats and talent, Brady is the better QB.  You won't find one respectable football fan who would say otherwise.

And, again, even as a diehard cheesehead, it's not even the Rodgers comparisons that get me most upset.  Rodgers has played better than anyone we've mentioned, perhaps anyone ever, in his first 4 years.  He has plenty of time to prove his stuff.  But when people start talking about Eli as more elite than someone like Brees or Peyton just because of the ring situation...  I mean, at that point, I just have a hard time believing that the person espousing that argument really watches that much football.

This.

Rings aren't the only factor that determines the value of a given quarterback. If that were the case, one would have to exclude Marino, who never won a Superbowl, from the elite quarterbacks of all time, which would be, quite frankly, pathetic.

hence the stats from my post!
