Jayne, this isn't a contest; nor need you be driven by a desire for vainglory. Accept the rebuke of your brethren with humility, and amend your life as is necessary to conform with orthodoxy. You don't need to always stand out in the conversation. Not all of your posts are proponent of novelty, but those posts which are, need to stop. Please stop with the novelty!

Love,

Peter.

Fisheaters is a strange place.

People, the thread was started because people criticizing her were clogging up the Vetus Ordo thread. She started this one so as not to derail another thread.

I'm FAR from JayneK's biggest fan, but accusing her of vanity because of this thread is incorrect.

I was not following the Vetus Ordo thread, so I had no idea it was derailed, and now I know people were talking about JayneK in it, and everyone knows too, because she started this thread. There was no need. She should have asked people to stop talking about her in the other thread, and left it at that.

I generally like JayneK. She just needs a break off the forum, like we all do sometimes.

Please post your criticisms of me here.

While I assume this was done with good intentions, let me point out that:

1. You should not encourage others to vent and speak against you freely like that, since many can sin by it;

2. Your need for attention is obviously reaching an all-time high and clouding your judgement. While this thread can pass off as an exercise in humility, it's actually not. It reinforces your craving for the spotlight which is something you must address, not on the forum of course, but in real life with your husband, your loved ones and your spiritual director.

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)

"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome

"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch
