So I've been considering editing the "Choose a song for someone else to sing" rules slightly to allow a chance that a person will randomly have to sing the song that he chose. Originally it wasn't intended to be that way, but I just thought that it would prevent people from picking something that sounds impossible (so far nobody's chosen anything like this, but I know ME). Now, since I've already allowed people to start sending in their choices, I don't want to make a rule change here without asking opinions.
So I'd like feedback on this one, especially from contestants. Should contestants have a chance to have to sing the song that they picked out for round eight)?
the fun is in picking something seemingly impossible...I thought that was the point....I dont understand the last question though...round 8? Haha! That would be the fun for me, too. But I like to hear feedback from others. In regard to the last question, round eight is the one in which you pick something for others to sing. It's basically a quick question recap of the first paragraph.

I submitted a song selection. Wouldn't be a bad Idea to consider the possibility of the person who submits the song to sing it. I sure did. (I chose an easy song). I doubt people would want to sing "I will always love you".... Golden rule folks....

Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?" In case one of your duet partners drops for that round, you can always try this:

How often do you do "Hook Line and Singer" contests? I'd like to get in on the next one.

This is our first one ever. I have plans on doing another one at some point, but I don't know at when. For now, you can participate by voting in the polls each time they come up. Round 3 Poll: http://catholicforum.fisheaters.com/index.php/topic,3450521.0.htmlRound 2 Poll (still a day and a half left to vote on it): http://catholicforum.fisheaters.com/index.php/topic,3450416.0.htmlNew polls go up every five days until all ten rounds are over.

Since this is related...
In the past I've been recording my voice and the backing track separately and then putting them together. Trying to get the voice to balance with the track on a single recording was much too difficult. Both methods have the problem of reducing the sound quality of the track. It wasn't until today when I was playing around with a new microphone that I found out that I'm able to record a backing track straight from the computer and into Audacity without using a microphone. This means I no longer have to work with the inferior quality of the re-recorded tracks that I was using. Theoretically, it should sound as good as the original (excepting my voice, of course).
Does anyone who doesn't use a video do this? If not, you should try it out (assuming you can on your computer).

Thanks for the tip. I haven't used audacity. I just use nero waveeditor to record, then I just combine the wav file with a video file. I'll look into audacity.

I'd think it would work with any recording program, assuming your computer has the ability. For mine, I got it working by tinkering around with the sound card's (in-built) recording settings. I didn't know what I was doing at the time, but I found out later!
