I thought the reparation for (unnecessary excesses during) Carnival is Lent.

Praying for the dead is important. PM me if you need a cantor for the Requiem Mass of a deceased friend or family member. Have cassock and surplice, will travel. (Will also do weddings for a reasonable price.)

Now that I've opened my eyes, I see there may be a typo or two...

Isn't it "Carnaval", not "Carnival"?

Carnaval in spanish, Carnival in English

Tibi laus, tibi gloria, tibi gratiarum actio, O beata Trinitas!

Don't forget the heart to put in the prayer is what is of first importance!

@HK: it's too bad they all can't repent as hard as they party down there, eh? It's really too bad.

No the excesses of Carnival are because of the penitential nature of Lent. Or something.

"The Catholic priest is simultaneously the victim offered on the altar.  All the older, traditional ceremonies of the Roman Rite underscore this foundational dimension of the Mass. If we don’t see that relationship of priest, altar, and victim in every Holy Mass, then the way Mass has been celebrated has failed.  If we don’t look for that relationship, then we are not really Catholic.  Mass is Calvary."
