Aren't the Dolphins making a move for Brees?

Brees isn't going anywhere.  He'll be signing with the Saints soon to finish out his career.  Technically he's a free agent but New Orleans is going to pay him.

I heard this rumour yesterday so I was just checking it out.

Peyton Manning would be an even better signing for Miami.

Yeah, it wouldn't be bad, but I think it would be better for Peyton to go somewhere that can immediately compete for a Lombardi trophy.  I think the Dolphins are a few years away and need to do some rebuilding.  I actually think that the Dolphins should pick up Matt Flynn, especially since Joe Philbin, the Packers' ex-offensive coach, is their new head coach.  It just makes too much sense, and allows Flynn to grow with the Dolphins and gives them the chance to build a team for the future.

I'd rather see Manning somewhere that is ready to win now.  As I mentioned before, I think Seattle is the most likely team that fits that bill, but there are a few other options.  Cleveland, Arizona, Miami, etc. have a lot of rebuilding to do, and Manning doesn't have very much time left.

I am always amused at the draft antics of that clown, Mike Brown(Bengals GM).

I hope the Broncos draft from the trenches out. If they can get some linemen on both sides that pan out, we'll see some of their skill players be embettered(made up word). It is a philosophy Harbaugh used in SF.

I don't think Peyton will come to SF, because of Alex Smith, and his good chemistry with Harbaugh, as well as a $20 million a year contract.

Alex Smith has to resign as his contract is up.  If they hadn't had made it quite as far as they did this year, I think Peyton to SF could have been very possible.  That would have been amazing to see.

I think our biggest need is a premier quarterback. If Peyton came here, would he have enough to compete at the highest levels. Think about it, we were a field goal away from the Superbowl, and with the way the Pats played, we could have beat them.

I actually think that SF should go after Peyton too, and even with Alex Smith improving a lot this year, I'm still not sure that he can win a Super Bowl.  I feel bad for you guys, because you're in that weird position.  Your QB is not bad enough to make a big movement toward replacing him, but it remains to be seen whether he's good enough to win a ring.

Of course, Trent Dilfer has a ring and I don't think Smith is any worse than Dilfer.

I actually meant to write premier wide receiver and not QB.  LOL Anyways, I like to be optimistic and back Smith; but like you have the same kind of thoughts. He's a solid B tier QB, so getting rid of him is a risk, and he's not like a Rodgers or a Peyton.

I hope we have another strong season next year.
