Ladies and gentlemen of FishEaters, On this day, March 25, on the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in 1991, the great Archbishop, missionary to Africa, Superior General of the Holy Ghost Fathers, and Founder of the Society of St. Pius X, Marcel Francois Marie Joseph Lefebvre was called to his eternal reward. Eternal rest grant unto him, o Lord, and let perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace. (And be raised to the altars!) A young Marcel A bearded Father Marcel A bishop-consecratin' Marcel And a Bishop Marcel standing in front of a pretty altar

I would normally offer prayers for this intention, but I will offer a Pater, Ave and Requiem for the soul most in need of our prayers since I am absolutely convinced that the servant of God, Marcel, is already in Heaven. May God speed the day that our Holy Mother the Church regains Her sanity and raises him to the honours of the Altar!

Rest in peace, and thank you! I hope and pray that you be a saint one day! Eternal rest grant unto the soul of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, may he rest in peace. Amen. And may all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.

Here is a lecture the Archbishop gave, in English, from May 11 (the feast of my patron saints), 1976. I've never heard this before. http://en.gloria.tv/?media=261930

"Tradition cannot be inherited, and if you want it you must obtain it by great labor." -- T.S. Eliot "The Catholic Church is the only thing which saves a man from the degrading slavery of being a child of his age." -- G. K. Chesterton "The Catholic priest is simultaneously the victim offered on the altar. All the older, traditional ceremonies of the Roman Rite underscore this foundational dimension of the Mass. If we don’t see that relationship of priest, altar, and victim in every Holy Mass, then the way Mass has been celebrated has failed. If we don’t look for that relationship, then we are not really Catholic. Mass is Calvary." -- Fr. John Zuhlsdorf Member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary: http://rosaryconfraternity.org/

In Christ, Zechariah
"...'One Incarnate nature of the Word God'. This expression had been used by Cyril of Alexandria (who took it from St. Athanasius) with a perfectly correct meaning, since he used the term 'nature' to signify 'person'. The Fathers of Chalcedon, therefore, totally removed what was ambiguous or liable to cause error in these expressions. For they applied the same terms as are used in the theology of the Trinity, to the exposition of our Lord's Incarnation. Thus they made 'nature' and 'essence' (essentia, ousia) the same, and likewise 'Person' and 'Hypostasis', and they treated the latter two names as totally different in meaning, from the former two. Their approach, on the other hand, had made 'nature' the equivalent of' Person' not of 'essence' (essentia)." - Pope St Pius X, SEMPITERNUS REX CHRISTUS, 25
