He was traditional Catholic then?

We wondered because it seemed there were mutual FB friends who knew him. But not friends from the military world, friends from the trad world, so we found that curious.

"Tradition cannot be inherited, and if you want it you must obtain it by great labor."

"The Catholic Church is the only thing which saves a man from the degrading slavery of being a child of his age."
-- G. K. Chesterton

"The Catholic priest is simultaneously the victim offered on the altar.  All the older, traditional ceremonies of the Roman Rite underscore this foundational dimension of the Mass. If we don’t see that relationship of priest, altar, and victim in every Holy Mass, then the way Mass has been celebrated has failed.  If we don’t look for that relationship, then we are not really Catholic.  Mass is Calvary."

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Aaron Talley--24.

He was killed last Sunday by his friend and fellow Marine who was carelessly misusing a firearm.  I cannot even begin to imagine the grief of his parents and 10+ siblings.

I knew him when he was growing up and he was a fine young Catholic man.

And, PLEASE  those of you, who like me, support Second Amendment Rights and enjoy shooting, ALWAYS follow the 3 basic rules of safely handling firearms:

1.  Always be sure your gun is pointed in a safe direction.
2.  Always check to see if the gun is loaded--and assume it is so, until you have verified otherwise.
3.  Always keep your finger off the trigger.

If Aaron's friend had followed these three basic rules, Aaron would be alive today!

"The muffled drum's sad roll has beat The soldier's last tatoo; No more on life's parade shall meet That brave and fallen few. On fame's eternal camping ground their silent tents are spread,
And Glory guards, with solemn round, The bivouac of the dead."
