If there's one on Bertrand Russell that would be epic.

I am reminded of Doctor Johnson's refutation of 'Bishop' Berkley. LOL He kicked a boulder, stubbing his toe and said, 'I refute him thus!'

I think I heard Coulombe talk about that.

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)

"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome

"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch

I always found Hume's observation very astute, that causality is an intellection rather than a raw sensory fact. His theory of knowledge was wrong, so he mistook the intellection as a fortiori, instead of a priori. Kant corrected him on that.

Naturally a strawman.

Mith, what does Coloumbe have to say about it? As a Platonist I would think he has at least some affinity for Berkeley.

I really don't remember, and it was only brought up in passing in one of the Fireside Chat talks with Professor Biersach.  It may not have come up at all, or maybe it was someone else.  But I listen to him a lot so if it comes up I'll remember and post.
