I used to play the second one, but I was never very good at it.  I could make a booming economy, but military was always weak.

Number 3 is for modernist. In two the key is building your economy and walls + towers with archers. You keep upgrading until you build up a force of paladins.

I used to play AoE 3 and it was fun being the russians or ottomans and spamming a town with troops.  One time I couldn't beat an enemy because he would send in an army, my Germans would just defeat it, but be too weak to counterattack.  So I made all te doopelsoldners my pop. que would allow, let him destroy my town while I sacked his, and then finished off his army.

But I had to give all my pc games away, they were just too addictive.

Yeah I agree Age o fEmpires 2 was the best, but can't find it no more.
