Read Reply #21 (page three or four). Pay especially close attention to her hobbies and what she said she wouldn't tolerate.

We are called to holiness. Having latin dance as a hobby is playing with fire at best. As for your wisecrack about being scandalized by an ankle, a bikini shows a lot more than that. They are immodest by design. There's no such thing as a modest bikini. Oh, and mexican soap operas are known for racy love scenes. Since when was. Any of that acceptable for Catholics?
I don't go around condemning every little vice, check my post history if you don't believe me. But when that kind of filth is paraded on a public forum, it becomes scandal. Thus, I was compelled to speak out. If she wants to do those things, that's her business. But if it is publicized, she should expect opposition to those behaviors.
If that makes me a 'bit of a douche,' so be it. It's a lot better than being on the road to damnation.

So why did you send me a PM inviting me to be your "pen pal"? Oh, obviously to correct my errant ways! Yes, I know every man aspiring to holiness wants to correpsond with a woman he considers "filthy". You know, the reason I brought up that information was to warn anyone who would have a problem with it. I try to be sensitive to people's needs. Some have more control over their thoughts and impulses than others. But everything I described is common to cultures that are predominantly Catholic.

And yes, you are a douche. And no, I don't want to be your pen pal. Or anything else for that matter.

ETA: From the thread How to use this sub-forum: "No one is to use this sub-forum for debate. If you don't like how a person answers any of the Church-related questions below, just shaddup already." And this is as far as I'm taking the conversation.

Judging from her additions to her questionnaire, a trad guy would have been totally wrong for her. Even a conservative NO guy would have been a stretch.

What makes you say that?  If you're some uber-repressed trad guy who gets sinful thoughts at the sight of an ankle, yeah, she'll probably scandalize you.  Doesn't make that the case for men everywhere.

Judging from your contributions to this thread, you're a bit of a douche.

Kisses to you, College Catholic.

She had a picture of herself as her avatar.  Too bad you missed it - she was lovely.

Thank you, Chris!

"THE LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 26:1)

"And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." — Clement, bishop of Rome

"I love truth," says he, "and not sects. I am sometimes a peripatetic, a stoic, or an academician, and often none of them; but—always a Christian. To philosophise is to love wisdom; and the true wisdom is Jesus Christ. Let us read the historians, the poets, and the philosophers; but let us have in our hearts the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which alone is perfect wisdom and perfect happiness." — Petrarch
