Like the title says.  Go see the movie.  Whoamg.  It is basically... amazing.

It is the complete package.  You have joy, comedy, drama, action (a LOT of action)....  Eye candy all around (from the dirty pirate hooker Scarlett Johansson) to Cobie Smulders (of How I Met Your Mother fame) to Cap'n America and THOR.

It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry, it'll make you cry from laughter.  You'll hoot and holler.  You'll be on the edge of your seat.

Seriously.  It's freaking amazing.

Stark's one-liners, Captain America's wholesome 1940s American-ness, Nick Fury's bad-assery, and Thor's wielding of Mjolnir....

With this movie, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Hobbit coming out in 2012, there is simply no reason for Hollywood to make more movies.

Also, keep your spoilers out of here.  Sticking tongue out at you

But, as a note, if you see it, STAY FOR ALL THE CREDITS!  There are TWO post-movie scenes in the American version.  So, stick around for the first one, settle in, talk about how epic that was, and then stay for the last one after all the credits roll.

As a final note, recasting Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner was pretty great.  Still frustrating that Chris Evans plays both Captain America and Johnny Storm in the same Marvel universe, but oh well...   LOL

Seriously.  Go see it.  Right now.  You won't regret it.  Unless you haven't seen like, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and so on.  Then watch all of those.  Then go see it.   LOL

I didn't see Captain America, but I still liked Avengers.

Yeah, I'm picky about my movies, but this was actually well written, well performed and well thought out as far as what happens next happens because of something that happened already.

Only one or two scenes were a bit cliche, but they happen so fast you won't notice them.

When you go up to receive communion, you're literally at the foot of the cross.  Standing at all creation's center, the saints gather around.  Martyrs, heroes staring into your very being.  They lived AND died for Christ... can we say the same of ourselves?  What are WE doing to further God's will in this life?  Skipping Mass for our careers?  Our education?  Voting for heads of state, that don't recognize the source of all authority and power?  They won't matter on your deathbed (or whatever end we meet).

So... why waste time with this modern world's nonsense?  We have our own civilization: CHRISTENDOM.  We must restore it whilst the modern world commits societal suicide.

Its naive and idealistic to believe government for man by man can succeed.  Restore Christendom in our hearts and homes!  Communities aren't that far off, its a numbers game.

My oldest son is hosting a pre-Avengers party which is basically a movie marathon for watching all the prequels in one night.  Shocked  (And that's the married responsible one who works for a bank. Crazy!)

This is a sequel?  See, this is why I generally don't watch movies because so few of them are stand alone stories.  I don't want to have to watch a slew of previous movies or a teevee show or read a book or become immersed in vacuous pop culture to understand what's going on.

But I agree, Hollywood needs to stop making movies.  Stupid Hollywood. Bronx Cheer

We bred for geekiness by mating a male geek with a female geek.  This was the result.

You don't HAVE to see the prior movies to understand the plotline, but it'll definitely help.  Given that Iron Man, Capt America, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk all had stand-alone movies, it'd definitely help to understand the wider plotline.  But they do explain it (briefly) in the movie, so you can walk in not having seen the others.
