First of all, I can't see many of your avatars. So if you think you have a clever one, you probably do not since I can't see it. Epic fail.
I stole mine from FE. It fits me because I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
And I like to talk like a pirate. Har har.

But what about your user name? I want to hear it from you, Dr. Bombay. Google only does so much. Why'd you name yourself after a warlock philanderer? Sure, he's a doctor, and I guess that's good. And he's hilarious. Wrestling his nurse all the time. Ah, the good old days when men were men and women were women. God bless you for making me laugh!

This avatar depicting a Hospitaller Knight truly demonstrates the Church Militant. The Knights Hospitaller, amongst other crusader orders such as the Teutons and Templars, fought in service for Holy Mother Church against the Muslim infidels and pagans who threatened it. Besides, crusaders do look cool.

Currently, mine is the seal of the Knights Templar. I've always been deeply inspired by their Rule and their history and meditate upon them often as exemplars of Christian virtue.

Mine is Van Eyck's St. Jerome in his Study because I'm a bibliophile and a student. I'm usually to be found in the same posture as Jerome with the same listless expression on my face, only without the badass galero. I also have a cat who usually sits nearby while I'm reading and who is firmly convinced she's a lion.

"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?" Can't go wrong with a crusader. word. I chose mine when I was new here because I didn't know much about traditional Catholicism but I knew I loved the traditional Mass with all my heart. With what's in the news now I've been tempted to put up a pic I made of the American flag, with the the canton replaced by the Sacred Heart and the words "Pro Christe et Ecclesia" on a white background.

"Tradition cannot be inherited, and if you want it you must obtain it by great labor." -- T.S. Eliot "The Catholic Church is the only thing which saves a man from the degrading slavery of being a child of his age." -- G. K. Chesterton "The Catholic priest is simultaneously the victim offered on the altar. All the older, traditional ceremonies of the Roman Rite underscore this foundational dimension of the Mass. If we don’t see that relationship of priest, altar, and victim in every Holy Mass, then the way Mass has been celebrated has failed. If we don’t look for that relationship, then we are not really Catholic. Mass is Calvary." -- Fr. John Zuhlsdorf Member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary: http://rosaryconfraternity.org/

I think I know of the image you're talking about. Personally, I don't like it, but different strokes for different folks.
