I note that many traditional pipe organs feature reed banks. Also, the air is, through vacuum suction, "piped" to the reeds.

Pipe organs do have reed stops, but that works differently than a reed organ.  But reed organs were used in some smaller churches in the 1800s.

I have acquired my grandmother's 1868 reed organ, generally in good working order, minus a few things here and there that I plan to work on. It wouldn't, to my ears, sound out of place with chant, especially if I used the diapason in a reserved, unobtrusive manner. But I'm a bit reserved myself about the idea, and I may just bring it home.

If you have a small church or chapel in need of an instrument, I wouldn't hesitate to use it there just because it is not technically a "pipe organ."
