Vox,

THANKS (you deserve uppercase) for getting fisheaters up again on the new server! You've been through a lot with this forum.  We've been through it with it with you, but you have had most of the work and pain.  I think you've done very well!

I didn't see a Reply link/button in your PLEASE READ thread (http://catholicforum.fisheaters.com/index.php/topic,3452571.msg33774405.html#msg33774405)  in the News, Announcements and Faq sub-forum, so I'm starting this new thread. (I do see Reply in threads in other sub-forums - e.g. this one!)

Welcome back to other fisheaters members. I hope we continue to use and support fisheaters despite these setbacks. Once we get through the initial problems we may have with the new server I hope things will settle down...

Awwww, THANKS, guys Smile  It was mostly my friend who did the actual work to make things right again; me, I mostly relayed info, dealt with emails, pulled my hair out and got depressed LOL  I didn't realize how badly all this was stressing me OUT all these months until I went to bed after the move to the new server and didn't MOVE for a million hours (and as I said in another thread, I don't GET stressed out!). Finally, things are starting to feel stable again. Every time I'd get a database error, my heart just fell and I had to rely on my friend to make it right (and he is a very busy and physically ill man). Thank God for him or this place would be doomed! Prayers for my friend!

My friend, BTW, is going to write up what the problems have been so I can let everyone know. I know that the server ITSELF -- the actual hardware -- was bad and it was corrupting the databases (something to do with memory). Things would crash, my friend would repair the databse, rinse and repeat.  I am very non-technically minded so can't tell you much more than that. But I'll get the info for the curious -- and to tell to my old server people with the hope they refund the money I JUST paid to them for the month of August (in addition to paying for the new server). They better gimme me money back!

Anyway, I am just RELIEVED! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

"The Catholic priest is simultaneously the victim offered on the altar.  All the older, traditional ceremonies of the Roman Rite underscore this foundational dimension of the Mass. If we don’t see that relationship of priest, altar, and victim in every Holy Mass, then the way Mass has been celebrated has failed.  If we don’t look for that relationship, then we are not really Catholic.  Mass is Calvary."
